This is really subjective. Some prefer a higher pg, some prefer a higher vg, some prefer a balanced 50/50 ratio. This is based on individual's past experience.

Pg generally is considered a better flavor carrier than Vg. Some folks are sensitive or even allergic to it. It contributes slightly to the throat hit.

Vg is the vapor maker. It is much thicker than Pg, so many tanks have difficulty wicking the thicker e-liquid. Works well for those who use drippers.

I would guess that the majority of e-liquids are close to a 50/50 Pg/Vg ratio. A lot of online e-liquid manufacturers (ie Dripeez, Virgin Vapers, VapeRite) allow you to choose the Pg/Vg ratio when you custom order.

I prefer a higher Vg ratio, myself. Too high Pg and I detect too much harshness for my tastes. I also like those companies who use all-organic, all-natural flavorings rather than artificial flavorings.

What ever ratio of PG to VG suits you best. Some people experience sensitivities to VG so they vape a juice that is higher in PG and visa versa.. Vaping style and equipment used also come into play. Some people are looking to blow big clouds and choose higher VG juices, some people like better flavor without having to add a ton of it and more throat hit and prefer higher PG juices and as far as equipment goes some atties (tanks/clearos/etc.) don't perform well with high VG juices and are better suited to juices higher in PG.

As @Baditude suggested, it's very subjective/personal preference, and sort of device-dependent. Some atties won't wick well at all with high VG juices, however RDA's and the like usually have no problems at all (and are kind of preferred for their vapor production/smoothness).

Personally I prefer more VG than PG, but lately I've been vaping almost exclusively out of my SubTank Mini and I've started favoring a max VG blend with some straight PG+nic to thin it out and add a little extra nicotine.

When I drip it's almost always strictly high VG juices. I've found PG tends to "crackle" a lot more which can be unfavorable in an RDA with a large drip tip (I get a decent bit of "spitback" when vaping high PG juices in my dripper).
