Hi Everyone,
I have more of a curiosity question on rba’s. I love dripping and have been tossing around the idea of an rba. The more I think about it, the more I talk myself out of buying one. Maybe because I just don’t understand them? What is the advantage of using an rba over a regular metal atomizer? Is there one? The main thing I like about dripping is, to me, it brings the flavors to life. I have vivi’s and kangers at home I rebuild already when they get gunky. What is the appeal of an RBA to you?
Thanks!

Well, I look at it this way. When we smoked you basically had cigarette smokers, pipe and cigar. Cigarette smokes basically lit up and smoked till gone, fast and quick. Pipe smokers are slower and concerned more with taste and the art of puffing. Cigar smokers similar to the pipe smokers. In vaping you have the same similar types. People who like dripping usually are not as heavy vapors . They dont mind the dripping and taking a few puffs and putting it down. They like the slow paced enjoyment of it, the purer taste etc. Then you have the others which were mostly cigarette smokers before and need to vape more often, even chain vape. So dripping is not a good option. Like myself I need to vape more often and dripping and driving is not a good idea. Having to have a bottle at my side and constantly drip is an inconvenience.

Cartomizers by themselves is just a step above dripping, you can fill a carto and puff for a while, but again its inconvenient after a while, I just want to pick it up and vape as much as I want, so I went to a tank and cartomizer. Thats a basic for many. Unfortunatly it does sacrifice taste to a point, especially if one likes higher VG or certain ejuice like NET tobaccos which kill cartos in a short time, so we go thru cartos like mad. I like many tried out drip atomizers and yes the flavour was great and it handled the heavy dirtier juices, but such a pain to drip.

So like many we went for a rebuildable tank atomizer. If you dont mind getting to learn how to rebuild there are many choices. SOme simple and some much more complicated. It combines the purer taste and larger juice capacity to keep us chain vaping.

If you are happy with what you use, keep using it. DOnt let others ring in and tell you that "THIS is the best or that is the best, " what is best is what keeps you off real cigarettes and is not stressful and frustrating. If you feel you need more from you experience then just go thru all the thread and forums. Ask questions and get all the details. Many people are really excited about what they use and dont fill in the details of how and why it is the best for them. Many times after you jump in and try a system then all of a sudden the details come out, oh yeah, you have to fiddle with this, oh thats because the air intake hole is to large, oh you have to modify the etc etc.

We are lucky to have so many choices now, and just read and educate yourself.

I was a dripper long ago, but dripping and driving is too much of a pain and can be dangerous. Then I started using cartos with tanks, that was perfect except I don't really care for the taste and I hate having to buy cartos.

Rebuildables promised better taste and the fact that the stuff to rebuild them can be had in bulk cheaply sold me. After much hesitation and more stress trying to get it to work, I did and I could never go back at this point.

The appeal for me was trying something new that was rebuildable. My main stay has always been 510 attys for dripping, and along the way, cartos, ce2s, vision stardusts, and lastly, smok reduxes. I had been playing around with cotton in my reduxes, and I ran across some videos on the rba's. I decided to try the Gen 1 (Did clone) from COV, as it came with mesh and wire at a decent price.

Long story shortened a little, I won't be replacing my 510 attys. The gen 1 can be set up for just dripping and I have another on the way to do just that. I'm still very satisfied with my reduxes with cotton, especially now that I've figured out a way to replace the cotton without replacing the coil in them. There isn't much between them and the diDalike, but there are differences and I enjoy each in it's own way.

.............. The more I think about it, the more I talk myself out of buying one...............

Resistance is futile. :) Go here and get this, using code bigbuyer. COV Gen 1

Look through this: Petar K Thread http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...-unoxidized-hot-spot-free-cleanable-coil.html (notice that he used a lighter-no torch required. I used a charcoal lighter because I had one already)

Start this at about 1:30 to see what Quigs is doing here. Mesh/Cotton hybrid wick Bluegrasslover's method - YouTube I used less cotton then he did, just the least little bit is all you need. Be sure and wet good before using, as the cotton is meant to stay. A que-tip is a good source for cotton.

Keep your vivi’s and kangers, say goodbye to your attys that are hard to clean and never taste like new even after a good cleaning.

Anyways, good luck with whatever you decide and vape on. :vapor: :vapor:
