Hi, my first post... I was smoking 1+ packs of American Spirits, and began e-cigs with the Blus at high nicotine (whatever Blu's high level is...)... smoked my last analog April 24, 2010......it was just an experiment.... to such a degree that, I have to laugh, when I started e-cigs on that April 24th, I wrote on my freshly-bought pack of Amer. Sp's., "Friday", not even thinking that I could stay off them for more than a few days.... later writing on the pack, "April 24th", and then even later, "2010"... FUN STUFF !!! then I heard about dripping and found a tobacco shop in Santa Rosa that actually sold e-juice..... "HUMIDOR"... so I would buy their 5 ml bottles and each time I would decrease one nicotine level.... from high, to medium, to low, and so on.........maybe 1 month at each level..... these bottles cost $29. each, later to find I could get the equivalent online (yea, plus shipping...), for $5.00 but I was happy to find them at all...

then I plugged into companies like FreedomSmoke and Totally Wicked, and stepped up to the Tornado (Ego).... fantastic.... this with zero nicotine, and now am experimenting with some flavor concentrates, which I am appreciating....
Anyway, wanted to introduce myself-- my name is Steve.... and share what, for me, is a friggin' MIRACLE..... and my girlfriend is 12 weeks off of analogs, also, and will never look back.....
Thanks for reading, and am interested if I am alone in winding my nic. down to zero.... it's been about 5 months now I am off of nicotine...

I've been self-medicating my abrasive personality with nicotine for the past year. Ended up being pack a day clove smoker, then grabbed some e-cigs just to switch it up. It's turning into a bit of a hobby to be honest, but I don't really want to quick the nicotine considering it helps my social life, love life, and self respect. Nothing works me up too easy anymore, and I don't feel like a zombie like a prescription of actual MAOI inhibitors would. Basically I love nicotine

Right, cloves-- Djarum (BTW, pronounced Jarum...) were my passion for a long time-- I lived in Indonesia for a long time, and started smoking cloves periodically.... it wasn't 'till I quit cloves, and took up American Spirits, that I started smoking EVERY DAY...!!

I've been vaping 12mg pretty much since I started. Found my happy place with Wyatt Earp from FSUSA and bought 120ml at 12mg, about a month ago. I bought another 120ml at 6mg to cut it with. Just stepped down to 9mg, and eventually want to move to 6mg. From there we will see. I understand you lose a lot of TH as the nic drops. Like many I started vaping as NRT, a temporary bridge between Smoker and Non-smoker. Now, I'm not so sure, I am digging vapor alot.

Wife and I are using the JoyEgo Maniac kits we got from goodprophets.com 4 weeks ago, and haven't smoked any tobacco since. Amazing!!! We started with 24mg, then a week later mixed it with 18 mg and now we are waiting for delivery of a step down to all "med" strength Red USA Mix which is like all 16-18mg. We'll go a month with that and then step down to an all 16mg and continue to try and lower the nic mgs if we can, but I am enjoying the vape. Just having a hard time getting the right "flavor" as I kinda like a little bit of sweetness from each puff.

Hi!

Yes I am stepping down. I started at 18mg and vaped that for 2 months. Then once I could vape non-tobacco lower-TH juices and be satisfied, I started buying 12mg juices (faves and new interesting ones). Then I had just finishing filling in a collection of 12mg and got the urge to drop to 6mg. For some of the new juice samples I just bought 0mg so they won't go out of style. I bought 0mg to cut my larger bottle 12mg juices to 6mg. It's annoying though - I have only been on 6mg for a week and I am getting the urge to go to 0. I will try to wait until I've vaped up some of this 6mg juice since I just ordered 6mg juices this week - odd how I have no clue when I will get the urge to lower my nicotine.

Amazingly, for me it seemed to be easy to drop nic levels once I was able to vape low TH flavorful juices. The drop in TH seems to be a bigger loss than the drop in nic. I don't vape all the time, so I just vape extra over the nic drop. But the lower my nic gets, the less desperate my nicotine need is and I like that.

BTW - nom nom yummy juices from what I tested today

Juicy Vapor: Butter Rum Caramel
Void Mist: Cherry Blossom (very delicate) and Peach Almond Mist (complex and yummy - peach blueberry almond and black walnut)

I haven't come down on my nic at all. But I'm okay with that. I was a die hard smoker. 2.5 to 3 packs a day. It's a miracle that I quit. I'm happy with that. If I vape for the rest of my life, I'm okay with that too. As long as I never put another cigarette in my mouth, I WILL BE HAPPY. As the OP stated so eloquently, "it's a friggin' miracle". :)

I've gone down from 24 to 16 mg. One thing I will do to increase flavor is to add a little vanilla and cinnamon (small amounts of cinnamon) to increase the darkness and the hit of my tobacco flavors. For menthol lovers, some mint or some menthol keeps your throat hit up. You can also get tobacco flavorings of various types to add to your mixes. Whatever you do, keep blending and stay off the analogs as much as you can.

 I've been at it for 8 months, stepped down from 36mg to 26-28mg and don't see any further reduction anytime soon. Everytime I have ever quit with a "step down" system, once I was at a low level of nicotine, I started smoking again.

You know, I'm really considering it myself. When I made the upgrade to vaping about a month or so ago, I ended up raising my nicotine level to make the switch easier (moving from light analogs (~12mg) to 18mg juice). Yesterday I vaped myself into a headache. Not fun.

For the record, I love nicotine, but think I might be better off cutting down a lot or completely cutting back. Has the gradual stepdown method worked out well for y'all? Any hints that might help when I do?
