As a 2-3 pack a day smoker, I lost a LOT of taste... Now, I can taste everything and I have the overwhelming desire to COOK... A lot!

I work ridiculous hours during the week and typically my weekend consists of me doing as little as possible and catching up on laundry...

Last Sunday, I made a seafood gumbo... took me 5 hours to cook it and it was FREAKIN' awesome...

So today... Planning on some crawfish pasta, spinach/onion dip and a shrimp dip.

I'm going to get fat if I don't watch it! LOL

Enjoy your cooking!

Same here, food taste best (or worst some time) now!

Also, I am recovering the smell, and some times it is not pleasant;)

Yea... I remember when I first started vaping, the bathroom at one of my favorite karaoke spots was all of a sudden rank! I'm sure it was nasty all of that time but I never noticed how completely GROSS it was until then :D

I also did a complete cleaning of my house since it was really funky too ... now, after a few months of no smoke, it actually smells GOOD in here...especially once I start cooking :D

as for funky smells...there's one in my kitcken, cleaned everywhere, cannot find the source. It's driving me boonkers. Kind of like an old rancid meat smell, moved the dog crates & cleaned, nothing, moved my bins and table, etc...found nothing. Possibly under the house  gawd, it's gross and I can't find it

I walked by an outdoor ashtray in front of a store the other day and almost GAGGED. I couldn't believe that I probably smelled like that most of the time.

Now I Fabreeze the car all the time. The first time the A/C is turned on in the car is disgusting, so I spray it into the vents.

Did anyone else suddenly discover that everything is salty after you quit smoking? I hardly ever use salt now.

Ritalee, I know what you mean. A couple of weeks back I posted a thread called "Fcuk My Tofu! Damn E-Cigs" to complain about how now that I have my sense of taste back, I realize how awefully plain and boring tofu tastes. Before I was just eatng to survive, but then I started eating for the pleasure when I got my taste buds back, and well now I haven't been able to eat at all, but that's another story.

Same here, always ate a LOT, but now I'm gettig more satifaction from it...thought I was before, now I know I am

This happens to me sometimes, I'll smell this nasty smell, and I can't find the source of it. I clean and clean, and finally I even shower thinking that it might be me, but I can't find the source of the smell. This is actually a symptom of migraines - phantom smells. Usually they are unpleasant smells, but sometimes they can be good, like every once in a while I'll be up at 3 or 4am and I swear that I smell crescent buns cooking downstairs. Even if you aren't getting the headaches, you can still be suffering from the symptoms. I had my first migraine a few months ago, and since then have been experiencing these phantom smells, yet haven't had any more headaches since then.

Maybe there are smells coming from wet laundry, I notice those smells alot and sniffing out a distant analog is easy! *Sniff sniff* ......n the shop floor smells like an ashtray sometimes, I can smell people who have been smoking, smell an analog burning from the street out the back and when we have smoking staff, they do not realise that even smoking away from the back door it gets into the shop! I used to do it and smell just like that!!

I've been smoke free for a week and a half now. (After smoking analogs for 23 years, I still can't get used to saying that.)

Yesterday, at work one of our technicians walked in. We'll call him "Jo." He's a heavy Marlboro smoker. Even when I was smoking analogs, you could smell that stuff floating around him like some kind of evil poltergeist, but yesterday....

So "Jo" walks in smiling, ready to take on the day. Feeling good. Confident in his ability and apparently oblivious to the fact that he not only smelled like ....... He smelled like ... on fire.

I don't know what horrified me more, his stench or the fact that I'm about to become one of those nasal nazzi's, ready to whip out my Crucifix, Holy Water and Glade Fruity Explosion spray at the mere sight of a Bic lighter....

God help us all.... I've joined the other side....
