i was reading something the other day. they said something i hadn't thought about, and that is that a vaper can vape for a month and pick up a cigarette and all say that taste disgusting; and a person that has quit smoking for a month and picks it up says omg i missed that taste.
i have already had that happen to me .....i lit a cigarette and took 2 puffs and snuffed it out. i said to my husband today ...just think of all those expensive dinners you've had at wonderful restaurants over the years; and imagine the tastes and the smells we've missed out on.
vaping changed my life overnight and everyday there is something new that is a benefit!!!!!

My first starter kit arrived on a Monday, and I started using it that evening, alternating with analogs. Tuesday morning's first analog tasted disgusting! Could taste the flavor of the tobacco, but the acrid taste of the smoke that accompanied it was way too overpowering. Then grabbed a vape, and decided I didn't want the taste of the analogs any more.

Since then, I've noticed tastes and smells are much more intense to me, and some of those I had not really noticed before...well, maybe I did notice them before, but that was 35+ years ago.

Life is short...enjoy what you can, while you can.

I haven't entirely cut out analogs, but over the last 2 months I've gone from a pack a day to 2 cigarettes a day or 3 at most. The return of the sense of smell was the first thing I noticed, and the sense of taste is heavily dependent on that. The event where this really hit home was this past weekend when I got together with my producer and another friend of mine for drinks. Normally I can put away shot after shot of bourbon -- but this past weekend, I had to take it slow. Not because the stuff was any stronger than usual -- but because, for the first time, I could actually savor the flavor. 'twas glorious!

Bourbon used to be My Thing, until about a year ago, inexplicably, I just couldn't drink it anymore. Now that I've got my taste buds back, I will have to try it again! Ah, I miss sipping that Woodford Reserve...

As of this morning it has been 55.23 days! ..

Yay! That's really inspiring. Good for you! I'm already feeling my old energy returning so working out will be easier. A good thing since I plan on taking full advantage of all of those delicious tastes and smells. I used to be constantly active, but in the last couple of years it's like I just ran out of gas. I know smoking has a lot to do with that.

How much were you paying for cigs? Almost $14 here in Canada (for brands like B&H). That amounted to $200-$300 per month that I can now spend on a new bike or maybe cross country skis. Or brand new clothes that don't smell like tobacco.

Good luck with your ex. He'd better be worth all of the effort. :)
