im planning to get a 2nd had GGTB and cut and rethread the top so i wont be using the telescopic battery for 6v, i would probably stick with 6v as i have another PV mod that i can use for 3.7/6v. will that work? i plan on using it for everyday 6v carry. something i can just put in my pocket. so watcha think guys?

It doesn't need the telescopic battery for 6v... you only need that to run a single smaller battery @ 3.7v

you are correct... as I stated above, you don't use the TB @6v 2x's rcr123A fit the same as the 17670
Yes it will work. All you need is to take out the telescopic battery/false battery.
Either of those combinations work without the telescope if you shortened it you would lose the ability to go 6v as stated.
You may want to hold onto it as it as, the GGTB might not be produced anymore ....
