Customized ViVi Nova Glass Tank

I'm looking for a place to buy a glass VVN tank and get it sandblasted.

I know IBTanked is offering the glass but they don't sandblast nor will they apparently offer their painting on the tube. I also know Phiniac will offer custom blasting but I don't really want to get into carto tanks.

Does anybody offer this service? Or am I going to be better off buying the tank from IBT and finding another party to sandblast it?

where on ibtanked did you find a threaded glass tank for a nova?

So far I've found two places that are willing to sandblast it, one in Tennessee and the other in New York. No price quotes yet until I get them some more information but they've said its possible.

They are not threaded though

I've no idea how their glass tank is incorporated so I've just fired off an email to IBT.

Pretty sure they'll paint it for you. I ordered a Chid tank with their custom Turquoise and Paprika Motley design. Wouldn't see why the Nova would be any different, especially since it states to put your color selections in the comments (same as the page for the Chid).

Did you ask them and they said no?

I emailed and asked, they said they won't paint those tubes (the VVN, Chobra, etc) plus I really like the look of sandblasted.

But alas it looks like if I want something like that I'll have to get a RBA tank style or a carto tank (which as I mentioned I don't have much interest in). Been looking at an AGA as it is, and IBT does sell glass for those.

Shame as I really do want to do business with IBT, and they've got the best prices that I've seen on that corner of the market. But until I get my hands on something that can actually take their glass, don't think this is moving forward too quickly. Probably something better taken care of after the holiday season.

Did you talk to Vicky by any chance? I don't see how they are unwilling to paint it when the option is right on the site (+$5). I mean, when you order a colored tank ... all they do is paint it from what I understand ... and the Nova DOES seem to have that option. And like I said, I have a motley painted Chid tank on the way.

By paint ... do you mean a custom design? Like their Jazzy Tubes but with a design you want? I can see them unwilling to do that for now (they're pretty busy these days).

Ah looking back at the email they don't offer sandblasting, but nothing was mentioned about the painting.

Just took a look at em, and they are at least in my own state via this search method. I just found the first few when I typed in 'sandblasting services' to google and the first two I emailed said they could both do it. But keeping it in Cali, if only for the sake of reduced shipping time, is ideal.

Ack! I thought you were in Ohio. Glad to hear there are options in Cali. I'd look for a local blaster and give 'em a call.

You might try sending Moorea from Phiniac an email and explaining the situation to her.That you bought the tank from IBTanked because Phiniac doesnt offer one for a Vivi and you'd like to know how much she would charge to sandblast it with a custom design.

Worth a shot at any rate.
