I'm curious as to what has been working for people as far as customs clearance goes. What would you write under product description for the "Personal vaporizers" or "vapor liquid"?

Also, are any of you familiar with customs brokers and the fees associated?

What is the process behind it and if you feel that for the security of your methods it would be safer to just PM me the information I would appreciate that as well.

So I looked into it and customs brokers aren't all that expensive at all considering all that they do for you. I was thinking it would come out to like $500 but I got a quote for all customs fees and brokers of $180. Shipping is gonna kill me though.

What do you guys pay on average for shipping and do you use air or ocean?

How long is the average time duration for ocean freight? I heard somewhere around 40 days. Is that correct?!

I'm not going to give away information that took me a lot of sweat and $ equity to get.

I will tell you that if you look hard enough, with the right legal help - you will find the answers to your questions.

It's a lot of paperwork and legal signing and you have to be totally up front with your personal and corporate information (TAX and SSN Numbers, etc) and use accurate descriptions with accepted code numbers.

Your numbers on freight times are about right. The phrase "slow boat to China" didn't start as a rumor...... Shipping is charged by the kg. But that's not the only charge - there is duty and other import taxes also which can run as high as 12% or even more on some items. All that gets billed and reported in your name.

Customs can claim those fees at anytime, including coming to you, long after you got a shipment you think passed to collect, charge you by the hour for investigating and re-inspections. And if you already sent it to customers, that's another story - especially if you don't have your state's authority certificate and number to collect sales tax.

Wish I could say more...

Wish I could say more... good luck!

You seem pretty knowledgeable about the customs process and legalities of getting by. I understand completely on how you would not want to release information on your formula of getting it in. Can you point me to the right direction as far as who I can speak with perhaps a lawyer. I'm willing to pay a lawyer but I don't know what type of lawyer to speak with and one that would be somewhat experienced with e-cigs. I know a broker can handle all of the paper work but I want to have everything setup so that its a smooth passage through customs. Anything you can do to help would be greatly appreciated. Please PM me.
