Hello, I quit smoking actual cigarettes 2 weeks ago, I started out using blu e cig and moved to an eGo-T pen last Friday. My problem is that every juice I have purchased has been way.to.strong. Too sweet, and just too overwhelming. I have stayed away from anything that even sounds sweet, no fruit stuff, desert stuff, or soda flavors etc. I have stuck to purchasing the "tobacco" flavored juices. They are okay, just very strong. I have purchased the following: Halo Tribecca, Uncle Junk's John Wayne, LiQua Ritchy in Traditional Tobacco. Currently vaping a mix of Tribecca and Traditional Tobacco, and a mix of all 3. What can I do to water down the flavor? I want to cut the intensity by at least a third.
Thanks!!:confused::confused:

T4T3ZOR, i'm new to the community- how does the pg or vg cut it down (flavorwise)? I know- n00b questions, apologies in advance

pg and vg dont really add any flavor to the juice and dilutes it. it will dilute the nic content too though. imagine taking a glass of cranberry juice. then add a bunch of water too it. the juice will have much less flavor

VG (vegtable glycerin)is easily bought at pharmacies and Wallmart (4.00). I just bought a small bottle there to lower my PG and nic ratio. Just make sure you buy USP grade (99.5% pure) PG carries more flavor than VG in eliquids so you could try going to a higher VG liquid. (VG gives more vapor) Adding any fluid to a bottle of juice will cut the flavor, but it will cut the nicotine level also. Some of the juice sites I have looked at will state "light flavor" so you could try looking here :Forum Suppliers Also look for coupons from the link (top middle of page). The search box at the top right of every page has been quite useful to me. I'd also suggest looking into CASAA . http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/casaa/95016-what-who-casaa.html Good luck!

A simple way would be to buy some unflavored juice at the exact same nic strength and mix that in with your flavored juice at 50/50.

If you want to mix it with pure vg or pg, you'd have to up the nic level on your flavored juices accordingly. As Sr2 said, make sure you get pharmaceutical grade if you go that route.

You might be a candidate for mixing your own eliquid. There is a DIY subforum in the eliquid forum and numerous videos on youtube. I say this because you might be a supertaster, someone who is super sensitive to flavoring. If that's the case, then DIY is the best option and a hell of a lot cheaper once you invest in the equipment.

There's a whole big controversy on medical grade vegetable glycerin and whether or not it's safe to ingest or not.

If you go that route, just spend the extra bucks and get the ingestible kind from the vitamin shoppe.

I dunno, I didn't like it that much when I added it to my stuff. Flavor wise it just tastes sweet. When people feel their juice is too thick, they use the highest proof vodka they can find and add a couple of drops to their tanks. That can also dilute the flavor. You'll probably have more fun with the VG though, with more clouds but sacrificing some throat hit.

That states that the it is "Glycerin (USP Vegetable)" which is what is sold in drug stores, on Amazon and from vaping suppliers at lower prices. As long as it is USP and Vegetable, it should be fine.

That said, VG is noticeably sweet, so PG might be better for diluting flavor, especially since the OP mentioned too sweet as one of the issues. The two easiest methods were mentioned above: Get unflavored liquid in the same strength as the overly flavored and mix to taste, or get the flavored with a higher nicotine level and then dilute with PG, VG, or a mixture.

I don't like sweet liquids, so I have always gone at least 60/40 PG/VG, and now that I make my own it is closer to 80% PG.

I would suggest unflavored juice. If you have a local shop that makes their own juice just ask them for unflavored in whatever mix you like and nic strength. If there isn't a shop available check some of the online stores. I buy in bulk so I don't know of anyone to recommend for a smaller bottle to try but im sure someone will chime in with a suggestion.
I usually cut flavored juices with a 50/50 mix and add nic if needed. Vg is noticeably sweet but to me its nothing compared to some of the juices available

I don't want to get into the whole safe VG discussion. It has been debated to death, but I recommended Vitamin Shoppe because it's local for many of us. Also, on the bottle itself it states "Natural Sweetener"

Directions say to "Add 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin to water or beverage of choice for a slightly sweeter taste."

So I know for sure that this one in particular is safe for digestion. That's all I'm saying.

I read countless threads about VG from various sites before I went ahead and got some. There were arguments for both sides on the safety of bottles that didn't specify for internal use. I never really chose a side, but it wasn't worth my piece of mind over an extra $2-3. In the end I only used like 1-2ml of it. I just decided to buy the right vg/pg concentration for myself.

That reminds me, I've always wanted to vape it by itself and see how it tastes and blow big clouds. I just never got around to it. At the time all I had was clearos that supposedly would have bad wicking issues. Still only use RTAs though, so prob still have wicking issues.

My local shop makes their own juice, and they wouldn't sell me unflavored base. Said I would screw up the nicotine concentration and the flavor of the juice. I didn't argue with them, and I haven't been back since because I realize how overpriced they are considering they are selling rebranded Top Vapor (madvapes) juice.

I'm just like you. I have never cared for any flavors. I have been vaping unflavored nic for 1 1/2 years. To me it tastes more like I vaguely remember smoking to taste like.

If you just want to tone it down, buy your juice at a higher nic level and then "water" it down by using plain PG and plain VG. My wife buys a strong NET tobacco flavor. Since she vapes 6mg nic, we buy 12mg and cut it by half. That also lowers the cost.
