I would use VG because I like a lot of vapor and the sweetness and I like stronger level of nicotine. If I was cutting down the nicotine level a lot I would probably use both. Some people have said that the flavors are too sweet for them. If this is the case for you I would not add VG as that would make it sweeter. I hope this helps some. I don't think there is a clear generic answer for all situations.

Hello gothictango, no there is no practical difference between glycerin and vegetable glycerin.

The end product is exactly the same chemical compound, only vegeteble glycerin is derived from vegetable fats, and glycerin may be derived from animal fats, or maybe even a combination of the two.

The grade, or purity rating is the only thing you should care about, unless it's a matter of principle for you. So unless that's the case, look for USP grade, and you're set.

Thanks. That's good to know. Glycerin is very easy and cheap for me to get at the Walgreen's without having to pay shipping. I had some left over from when I used to make homemade sprays for my dreadlocks and it helps cut down the harshness of PG and doesn't diminish the flavor too much if I don't go more than half cut. I ordered some VG juice from Johnson Creek to try it out, which hasn't been shipped yet. But I like the glycerin cutting because I can still try out other flavors w/out hacking up a lung due to irritation. I guess I should consider myself lucky I'm only mildly irritated by it and not straight up allergic.

This is a good thread, thank you!

I've got a lot of 36mg's coming and I want to add VG or PG to it to come up with approximately 21mg's. I find 18mg's not quite strong enough and 24mg's a little too strong. Will I be able to do this? If it would be too difficult, I would rather have the 24mg's than the 18.

Thanks. I've downloaded the hack-o-matic and wonder, if I have tobacco flavoring and added a mint flavoring of some kind would that work well?

I add a small amount of mint (menthol) to all my tobacco flavoring and love it! A friend of mine can't tell the difference between his menthol analogs and menthol vaping.

I bought some of that glycerine at Walgreen's. After getting it home I read the label and it said not for internal consumption or something like that.

Freaked me out 8-o I didn't know if it was food grade glycerine or not.

So I bought some at Lorann's and have been using that. Now I know that's food grade because she uses it in her flavorings.

Sharon,

They've have quick delivery and appear to be nice people.
I'm not sure what size bottles you ordered but the 3ml bottles are excellent for testing out flavor batches. Just go easy on the menthol drops, it's easier to add more than take away. I just received more bottles, a syringe, and some no flavored VG juice. I think I have every size of their bottles...

I bookmarked them and will probably be ordering again. They seem to have great prices!
