Keep in mind that I'm running a 2.5 ohm setup cranked up significantly on a VV box. I'm in the process of experimenting to see how many toots I can get before the cotton burns. Stand fast for results...
10 toots later with no squeeze. Waiting a few mins between each puff. Looks nearly the same!

so did some more head to head comparison. and i have to say for the room to work with on the cyclone the performance is quite beautiful rebuilt a micro coil ~1/16" ID .8ohms and WOW. beautifully beautifully BEAUTIFULLY amazing! as for the mention of xc-116, not the greatest fan. i will always love cotton the simplicity,price, and how easy it is to work with.

I put a 2 ohm micro coil in the cyclone last night and was kicking myself for not staying with it in the first place. I didn't use cotton, but the xc-116(1/32) with very small tail.
For those that use and enjoy cotton, the biggest fans of that wick seem to be bottom feeding mods, do any of y'all have drippers with micro coils/cotton wick that are top fed? It seems as it should be just as good both ways, perhaps when I tried cotton I didn't make the best wick. I WANT it to be my go-to wick, easy to get easy to replace.

Yep. I wick all my drippers with cotton. Stopped buying silica. Why pay $3-5 for a few feet when you can get an infinite suppy of wick for a couple bucks.

I have been looking at cotton as an alternative but some say it has an odd taste. Are you seeing this as well?
Only if you use chemically treated cotton or burn it by letting it dry.
I just use the heads of qtips. Always have plenty in the house for cleaning my mods, ears, weapons... Why not use it as wicks too!

If you have silica laying around and you try cotton, that silica will rot in your toy box for a very long time! Tuck a few extra q-tip heads or a half of a cotton ball inside your box next to the bottle... Change the wick out if you need to on the fly. No need to dry burn, torch, etc. Just wick, wet and go!
i love cotton in all my top feeder rdas. its nice being able to carry a cotton ball around to just roll a wick and slide it in if need be. super easy to change flavors on just remove the cotton clean the base and dry fire coils then rewick 
The only time I've noticed an odd taste (with sterile cotton balls) is when I use too much cotton. Rewicking with less cotton always solves the problem.
Yeah. Cotton holds a HUGE volume of liquid, but it also swells. If you wick it tight to begin with, once it swells inside the coil, you will see a choking effect which limits it's ability to wick properly. Once you find the perfect amount for your coil so that it swells to a perfect fit, there is no better vape!
lol! you ordered from Indy Vapor didn't you!? I ordered the cyclone AFC, got a ship notice on Sunday but it actually started moving today.
