All of the above are good suggestions. I would also add The Vape Book and YouTube because I love watching videos. I learn quicker if I see it done. Good luck to you and welcome to the forum. It is a wonderful place with wonderful people.

Start out with small batches and small bottles til you get the hang of it . I made the mistake of making a big batch and had put too much PG in it. I didn't really notice a difference in taste but I did break out in hives because of it!

Once you get the hang of it though its great! I love DIY!

cocacola31173 - That is what I have heard, make small batches at first and write down the recipes!

Ben DIY 95% of my vaping life and the best advice I can give you is start out simple and let it steep for two days before testing .
Even is after two day it's got good give it time .
I like to mix all of my nicotine juice at one time , I can always add more Vg to bring down the nicotine as needed .
Some times I need to thin it out even after adding flavoring .
May have five flavors steeping at one time . Best to keep plenty on hand you just never know what your going to need ?
Remember keep every thing CLEAN that you use to mix .

+1 on the clean. I made a small batch of maple bacon and didn't clean the syringe well enough. All three other mixes I did that day had a hint of bacon. Not that bacon on everything isn't good, but it wasn't meant to be there.

The Best Advise I can give Anyone who is just starting out with DIY is...

Don't Modify a Mix until it has "Steeped" for 2~3 Days.

and

KEEP DETAILLED AND ACCURATE RECORDS OF EVERYTHING YOUR DO!

I always find places that say to steep for a couple of weeks! I think that may be to much but what can I say I haven't even made my first batch yet! 2-3 days sounds better and at most I would think 4-5 but im not sure. I've had juice that sat in a tank for about a week in a half before (because I bought a new tank) and once I tried it again it was terrible!
