Janty Ego ..... i hear a lot of talk about flooding of atomizers being a problem, yet in the ego instructions it suggests putting a couple of drops of juice in the atomizer, and i've been advised this by someone on here too..

so am i missing something?

Well, flooding atomizers is a problem... The real question here is, are you using cartridges or are you just dripping? Dripping involves removing the filler from the cartridge, just pull it out. Then drip 3 drops on your atomizer, put the empty cartridge back on, and you will get somewhere around 5-7 or 8 drags before you need to put more drops on. If you are using a cartridge you can put a drop or two on between refills....

If you do flood your atomizer, you will know because juice will leak, and you wont get any vapor. If that happens, just keep vaping until you get the vapor back. Just try not to flood your atomizer =)

Or you can remove your atty from the battery and blow through the threaded end of your atty to drain out some of the extra juice. When you reattach it to the battery you will see the difference in your vapor.

Yeah, thats also a good way to clean out your atomizer if it starts getting kind of clogged up... After a while you may notice the draw get harder... If you do what dee5 said, it usually clears that out a bit... It also removes old juice flavor a little quicker since juice gets stuck down in there.

cheers. thats interesting..i'm using pre-filled carts, putting 6 - 8 drops of juice in about 3 - 4 times a day and dripping a couple of drops in the atomizer with every other top up. So how come if you drip into an empty cart th juice doesnt come out the hole and into your mouth?

anyway, i'm getting one of those tank atomizers and a syringe (+the relevant cartrigdes) so i'll see how that compares

Well, if you were to drip directly into your cartridge no juice would leak through the mouth hole because its not connected to the chamber... if you look on the side of your cartridge you will see a little tony hole on both side... thats where the air comes through into your mouth... See them? Little half circles almost

Flooding vs dripping a couple drops in there:

You want the atomizer to remain moist inside so you add a couple of drops of liquid to it (usually 3). But if you squirt a stream of liquid in there it won't work, it's too much - just like flooding a car (a car takes gas, but you can flood it with gas and it won't work).

aha!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! all makes sense now, i see those two little semi circular holes! and here was me thinking it was just all one hollow tube with a hole in the end. now i'll go try experiment a bit more ; foam out, drips in, foam back in, more drips.. brilliant piece of engineering this ! must say its an enjoyable learning curve this.

and it tastes nice too - ry4 i think...i've ordered some more + a cigar flavour - was going to go for apple and watermellon and allsorts but the stuff that came with te kit (ry4) has a nice taste, it kind of reminds me of almond cake or something

although i've noticed i'm doing all the reccomended things and ocasionally i'm getting a harsh burn/tingle in the mouth, which i cant seem to pin down to anthing in particular. its fascinating this whole thing - a bit like victorians getting on with technology in its early stages and all the fiddle and faff that goes with it...wonder what E cigs'll be like in 5 - 10 years time (if our idiot governments havent banned them that is - its an opportunity...they should go with it or i fear if the E cigs become illegal we will all be smoking our heads off again)

Hey honestly, the cartridges never really work very good. I know that sounds like blasphemy, but I have a lot of experience. I really recommend grabbing a drip tip and dripping or going with cartomizers.... Thats my humble opinion of course, tons of people out there love cartridges.... But I dont know why. If you really want to give cartridges a shot though, one thing you can do is cut the filler length in half, it lets you put a lot more juice in but still doesnt let it all seep out. This is called a Plug. You can also substitute the filler with aquarium filter foam (Blue foam, Fluval) it lasts longer.

Agree. Plus you can try cartomizers instead - atomizer+cartridge in one piece. Much easier and lasts longer between fill-ups.

Just for the record, I've never had much luck with cartomizers. Plus, I don't like how big around they feel in my mouth. (no nasty comments now! : )
The burning/tingling in your mouth- could it be you are getting a bit of juice in your mouth? If so, then you DO have too much juice in and need to blow it out a little.

I haven't tried cartomizers yet, but I'm not a big fan of dripping. I do it to test new juices, but really, it's too much hassle for minimal returns. My cartridges + blue filling perform as well tastewise as dripping and are a bit less hassle (although not hassle-free...) I don't know why people say they don't work well.

I guess it just goes to show... the "best" way is whichever way works best for you, and what works for you might not for another. Try 'em all!
