Ephesians 4:32 (KJV)
And be ye kind one to another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ’s sake hath forgiven you.

The fear of the LORD is the instruction of wisdom; and before honour is humility.
– Proverbs 15:33

There it is again....'forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.' This is spoken of in Scripture mega times in the New Testament. I realize the Old Testament talks of 'an eye for an eye,' but forgiving is more POWERFUL than 'an eye for an eye.' Forgiveness takes away the power from the other person over you. You leave them impotent.

Definition of IMPOTENT

1
a : not potent : lacking in power, strength, or vigor : helpless.

And that is the way you want to leave your enemies.....helpless to have power over you. :)

Isaiah 41:10 (KJV)
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.

    No you can't
"nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful."

IMO: Standeth is self explained though I thought scornful should be looked at in more detail.

Quick google came up with this.
    scorn·ful
    /ˈskôrnfəl/
    adjective
    adjective: scornful

feeling or expressing contempt or derision.
"the justices have been scornful of the government's conduct"

synonyms: contemptuous, derisive, withering, mocking, scoffing, sneering, jeering, scathing, snide, disparaging, supercilious, disdainful, superior; archaiccontumelious
    "his scornful remarks"

IMO: I get belittling or even self righteous out of this, it's better for me not so say anything at all, for by the Grace of God there go I.

** It also brings to mind the Parable of the Prodigal Son where the father never accused the son but upon his return, welcomed him home and prepared a feast though his brother had something to say.

Isaiah 41:10 is such an awesome PROMISE of Almighty God! There is a song we sang in church called: Standing on the Promises of God........and this is one of them. I think I'm going to write it out on paper and tape it to something I see often!

Now Psalm 1:1-3 is a a blessing and a warning. I wanted to clarify one part of it, so I went to Bible Gateway and checked it out by the Living Bible translation. I do that from time to time. It is as follows:

    Psalm 1:1-3 Living Bible Translation
1 Oh, the joys of those who do not follow evil men’s advice, who do not hang around with sinners, scoffing at the things of God. 2 But they delight in doing everything God wants them to, and day and night are always meditating on his laws and thinking about ways to follow him more closely. That is what caught my attention....#1 - 'thinking about ways to follow Him more closely.' That just gave me such a warm fuzzy! #2 - Back to asking non-Christians for advise instead of God and/or our Christian friends, depending on them to give a truthful, Scriptural answer. Non-Christians will give the wrong advice. God's advice is always on target. Sometimes it might not make sense, but it will always work. My husband use to tell me that he could talk until he'd be blue in the face, but if he gave me a Scripture or two, I'd totally understand what he was telling me. Silly, but true! :)

I found another verse on forgiving. It's right after Jesus taught everyone how to pray. (The Lord's Prayer)

Matthew 6:14-15 New King James Version (NKJV)

14 “For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. 15 But if you do not forgive men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.

This shows that God is not under any obligation to forgive you of your sins if you don't forgive others of their sins. This is the bottom line, besides all of the other things, that Almighty God says about forgiveness. OOPS!

    Acts 10:34 (KJV)
Then Peter opened his mouth, and said, Of a truth I perceive that God is no respecter of persons.

The Lord liveth; and blessed be my rock; and exalted be the God of the rock of my salvation. It is God that avengeth me, and that bringeth down the people under me. And that bringeth me forth from mine enemies: thou also hast lifted me up on high above them that rose up against me: thou hast delivered me from the violent man. Therefore I will give thanks unto thee, O LORD, among the heathen, and I will sing praises unto thy name.

    No you can't
    I googled evil.

Strange the first thought that comes out of my mind is man and then I use man to measure how large or small this evil is, I've notice that when I think of evil my mind is absent of God. IMO: that's because there is no evil in God. If I think on evil than I'm not meditating on God and I've blocked God from my thoughts, now if God is blocked from my thoughts how can I be a doer of His Word.

    adjective: evil
    1. profoundly immoral and malevolent. "his evil deeds"

synonyms: wicked, bad, wrong, immoral, sinful, foul, vile, dishonorable, corrupt, iniquitous, depraved, reprobate, villainous, nefarious, vicious, malicious; malevolent, sinister, demonic, devilish, diabolical, fiendish, dark; monstrous, shocking, despicable, atrocious, heinous, odious, contemptible, horrible, execrable; informallowdown, dirty
    "an evil deed"

    noun: evil

    1. profound immorality, wickedness, and depravity, especially when regarded as a supernatural force.
"the world is stalked by relentless evil"

synonyms: wickedness, bad, badness, wrongdoing, sin, ill, immorality, vice, iniquity, degeneracy, corruption, depravity, villainy, nefariousness, malevolence; More

    Ephesians 4:27-32 (King James Version)

27 Neither give place to the devil.
28 Let him that stole steal no more: but rather let him labour , working with his hands the thing which is good, that he may have to give to him that needeth .
29 Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers .
30 And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamour, and evil speaking, be put away from you, with all malice:
32 And be ye kind one to another , tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake hath forgiven you.

MM, where you picked the word 'evil,' I was drawn to the sentence structure. Why would all these evil attributes 'be put away from you, with malice.' The way it reads, you need to get rid of all of the sins with malice? I have checked different translations and know it means to rid yourself of malice along with the other ones, but I found a great translation in the Complete Jewish Bible:

    Ephesians 4:31Complete Jewish Bible (CJB)
Get rid of all bitterness, rage, anger, violent assertiveness and slander, along with all spitefulness.

    I say, ol' chap.....the King's English was a bit formal!

I was trying to focus on how as worshipers of the One True God were being attacked and to recognize evil and how to overcome it, I gave attention to where I said "I've blocked God from my thoughts" that also includes the Holy Spirit whom guides us with instructions and we must listen too, now if I give evil a place, I can not overcome evil on my own, I need the Holy Spirit to guide me and do it for me, for man is not able to overcome evil on his own and if I think I can then I'm PROUD and God has a lot to say about that... but then again this is only my thoughts for today....

    Acts 20:35 (KJV)
I have shewed you all things, how that so labouring ye ought to support the weak, and to remember the words of the Lord Jesus, how he said, 'It is more blessed to give than to receive'.

And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her, who was called barren. For with God nothing shall be impossible. And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word. And the angel departed from her.

    2 Peter 3:10 (KJV)
But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up.

I sought the Lord, and he heard me, and delivered me from all my fears. They looked unto him, and were lightened: and their faces were not ashamed. This poor man cried, and the Lord heard him, and saved him out of all his troubles. The angel of the LORD encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

There is nothing wrong with what you focused on! I totally agree with you! My weird way of thinking went to how the verbiage used wasn't exactly clear. There is nothing wrong with your thoughts. It was good insight. I'm the type of person who is drawn into sentence structure and spelling.....but only if I do it. It sometimes takes me forever to get a post the way I want it. I drive my husband nuts. I'll tell him that I'm in the middle of a post and could whatever hold on for a moment. He knows it could be 2 minutes to 10 minutes. He types and post....period. Not moi. I check and check and it even drives me nuts sometimes!

    1 Thessalonians 5:6 (KJV)
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.

We are troubled on every side, yet not distressed; we are perplexed, but not in despair; Persecuted, but not forsaken; cast down, but not destroyed; Always bearing about in the body the dying of the Lord Jesus, that the life also of Jesus might be made manifest in our body.
