Darth Vapers (Darth Vapers - Electronic Cigarettes), located in Florida, appeared on the ECF scene with its own supplier's thread this past September 2011. I have had the pleasure to sample several many of this vendor's juices, and would like to start spreading the word!

I have extremely picky taste buds and like to let fresh juices steep for a long time before vaping; those reviewed below are anywhere from 1-2 months old. All are 12mg, 70/30 PG/VG, with extra flavor (I like LOTS of flavor :)). I vape them in a higher ohm carto (2.7-3.0) on an unregulated 4.2v battery.

My favorite juices are tobaccos, so let's start there:

RY5: This is DV's take on the classic RY4, with a nice balance of all three flavor elements: tobacco, vanilla and caramel. The tobacco is more forward, with the sweeter notes humming nicely beneath. One of the best things about DV's juice line is his signature tobacco flavor, which he rightly describes as "woodsy." More on that later! As a "5" rather than a "4", I expected this juice to be on the sweet/dessert end of the RY spectrum, and it is. Nevertheless, because of that distinctive tobacco top note, it is not "sticky" sweet and could easily be a mellow all-day vape for RY lovers. I give RY5 the following ratings: TH: Mild (at 12mg); Vapor: Copious for 70% PG; Flavor: 4.5 out of 5.

BlackCherryBacco: This blend of DV's tobacco with his own Black Cherry (which I have not sampled by itself) was a very pleasant surprise: it is a true Black (Bing) Cherry in about equal part with the tobacco. I get an occasional taste of something tangy/spicy at the end of the exhale (cinnamon?!?), which is barely noticeable but quite tasty. There is nothing candy or cough-syrupy about this juice! I give BlackCherryBacco the following ratings: TH: Moderate; Vapor: Copious; Flavor: 4.5 out of 5.

GhostPeachBacco: Again, a fairly equal blending of DV's own White Peach ("sweeter and juicier than its yellow cousin," per DV's website) with his signature tobacco. This is definitely sweeter than I was expecting, and is the only DV juice I have sampled that occasionally comes across as a bit candy-ish. (This is probably my fault. I asked for this particular concotion, and should probably have requested the regular Peach instead of the White Peach!) Oddly enough, it has a harsher TH than the other fruit-tobaccos in his line. I give GhostPeachBacco the following ratings: TH: Moderate-to-strong; Vapor: Copious; Flavor: 4 out of 5.

AppleBacco: Bliss. :vapor: :vapor: Oh, sorry. This juice is simply remarkable. DV blends his own Red Apple with his base tobacco flavor (probably lighter on the fruit than on the bacco), and the combination allows that marvelous mild tobacco taste to just shine while adding just the right amount of subtle Sweet Red Apple as an undertone. Now about that signature tobacco flavoring: DV calls it "woodsy"; I agree completely, but it is a delicious rich mild woodsiness, not an in-your-face cedar or anything like that. Think "hickory" or "oakwood" or -- yes -- "applewood"! There is no hint of candy or artificial sweetness at all in this juice; even though it's not spicy, it could easily pass itself off as an apple cider. I give Applebacco the following ratings: TH: Mild-moderate; Vapor: Copious; Flavor: 6 out of 5. ;)

Vanilla Tobacco: Now for the bad news. :( I was so pleased with the RY5, I thought surely I would adore this juice. Alas, from the moment I first sniffed it to the present day, it has had an overwhelming "perfumey" quality to it (this has diminished considerably over time, but after 2 months it's still there). I honestly cannot vape enough of it to give it a fair rating. This may have been a bad batch; or it may be my notoriously finicky taste buds again, but I find this Vanilla Tobacco --well -- completely out of character with the rest of DV's line of juices.

And now for the fruits!

White Peach: This is a very nice, very sweet and authentic White Peach juice (I'm from the South; I know whereof I speak!). It's almost too sweet for my taste, but others will adore that about it. I give White Peach the following ratings: TH: Mild; Vapor: Copious; Flavor: 4 out of 5.

Caramel Apple: This must be the same Red (not Granny Smith or other green) Apple that DV uses in its Applebacco, lightly soaked in a mild, pleasant caramel dip. Not gooey sweet, nor the least bit artificial, this reminds me of October and all things autumnal. If you're looking for a nice RED apple with a touch of caramel, you might very well love this. (Me, I'm too busy puffing away on my Applebacco to give it the attention it probably deserves!) I give Caramel Apple the following ratings: TH: Mild; Vapor: Copious; Flavor: 4 out of 5.

Darth Vapers has many more juices in all different categories (fruits, bakery, tobaccos, sweets, beverages, menthols, etc.), with more coming in the weeks/months to come. The prices (including shipping) are extremely reasonable, and he is a very pleasant vendor to deal with. He also carries some hardware. I encourage others to check this vendor out!

(P.S. -- DV might be having a sale this week, even as early as tomorrow: 1/25/12. I hope he doesn't kill me for saying that! :D)

I have a small sample bottle of RY5 from Darth Vapers, which was included free with a hardware order. I agree that there's no perfumey off-taste and is fairly sweet. I haven't reviewed DV RY5 for the Big RY4 Roundup thread so far, in part because I want to see what Jon's RY4 is like, but also because I pick up a certain subtle fruitiness from it. I'm not sure that's an accurate perception (I doubt that Jon used any fruit flavorings...), but whatever flavors he used don't translate for me into much of the RY-profile I've come to expect. It's not a bad juice, but to my palate this RY5 leans away from typical RY-tones. Perhaps I'll feel different after getting some DV RY4.

I got the RY5 from him as a "freebie," too! (And glad I did. :)) I have not tried DV's RY4; I look forward to reading your reviews of both (I love your "RY4 Round-Up" thread -- thanks for all your hard work!).

I wonder if the atypical flavor you got was from the DV tobacco base? As I noted, for me the tobacco flavor is fairly forward, and DV's tobacco is definitely "woodsy" (but NOT cedar!!).
