Database server upgraded - feedback please

We just completed an upgrade of our database server, and fixed a network issue, and would like some feedback from people who previously reported 504 errors or similar - has the situation improved or not, please?

I saw a big drop in performance over the last 10 days, pretty much since the server problem two Sundays ago. It was very noticeable when I checked My Posts then looked at longer threads, like the PIF Chit Chat.

The slow response was pretty noticeable all day, every day. Over a minute to see a thread, I would end up closing and reopening my ECF page being sure it had choked.

As of this morning response is crisp again, taking a handful of seconds to open threads selected via My Posts.

Whatever has been done, it is a large improvement. Thanks!

I didn't have a lot of problems, just pretty slow, particularly during peak US evening times. Right now, it's running lightning fast! Well done gang!

Hi Roly, previously, I had some slow going on the forum, but the threads are loading up nice and quick now. The "Notifications" is still very slow, though, when I click on it to see my "likes". That's the only problem that I am having now.

Exactly what mark said. the last few days have been pretty sluggish, but so far this evening it's working pretty well


ETA - I don't think I've ever had the Trippy Tips thread load as fast as it is for me right now

Roly, I hate to say this, but the improvement only lasted for a few hours for me. Nothing changed on my end, but probably in the vicinity of 9pm EST or so the forum started to bog down for me again. It's kinda slow today, too

Not sure if anything changed with the server around that time, but it was lightning fast when I made my above post and for a while afterward

My experience resembles this as well, unfortunately. However, it's not lagging horribly or bogging down so much as just slower, as it was previous to this thread's creation.

Yes, good point It is just "back to normal", I guess

As Jerry said only the Likes is taking for ever , perhaps if i delete them it would be back to normal
