ECF Towers
We are carrying out a round of upgrades and work to speed up ECF, but this won't fix it for everyone as the problem is local to them. In this thread I'll try to help people work out if they have a network, PC or browser problem and what to do about it. Basically, most pages load in 5 seconds for people close to Chigago, who have a good ISP, and with a clean PC and browser. It's 8 or 9 seconds for those further away and/or without such a good ISP. An 'ISP' is the company you get your broadband from.

Firstly please see this post:

I know that there are almost certainly issues, occasionally, with one of our servers, or with the site being loaded up due to lots of people online at one time and a cron job (server task) running, or even with a long thread that somehow gets locked up - but if you always get long pageload times, the problem is not at ECF.

As a test, download the browser Opera and don't add any plugins. A new, clean browser might work faster for you.
