I wondered whether it's is detectable to a date you might have which you've answered "NO" to being a smoker, that you are getting nic via vaping. Are the lungs still giving out the odor of the nic, or wouldn't it basically be non existent unless the e-cig itself was seen. Maybe some of you have partners or dates who have told you one way or the other. Thanks.

Well... I think it would be undetectable...

BUT...

That being said, I think honesty would be the best policy.

Like, tell her you used to smoke, but you gave it up, and now you vape, and I'd explain vaping 101 to her (the basics only). I wouldn't probably fill the car up with vape clouds on your first date. See how she feels about it, but don't make it a deep, dark secret.

I'd say it depends on how well the date goes. My girlfriend says I don't smell like an ashtray anymore and she can't smell anything from vaping from a foot away from my face. However, she *can* smell the PG on my breath if I've been vaping and we're closer than 1 foot. A little mouthwash or gum clears that right up though, where with cigs it was wash face and hands, brush teeth, and mouthwash.

Logic told me it wasn't detectable, especially since I, myself haven't smoked an analog in months. The honesty slant within the dating game has to have it's viability and limits, elsewise only the "perfect" among us would ever get to date #2. I don't count my smoking past from months ago to be relative to someone on a first date relationship, any more than I'd express stuff over the last relationship that failed. All in all, I don't like "the game" at all, but you have to play the dating game, cuz lets face it, pure honesty is overrated and simply put, a nail in the coffin for second dates. Go and tell someone everything little thing about yourself, and see what place on the date-2 food chain you hold. I have never failed but to get far less than a good picture from a first date I've ever had, and since I do call myself a non-smoker, I don't feel it's less than honest to not bring it up.

Thanks for all the answers folks. Sorry for the soapbox. ScooterBob
