Day 1 of the HH .357 on an Ego Twist

So I just received my .357 (today) and a I'm a little disappointed. I guess after watching the reviews on Youtube, I feel I'm just not getting the same results. Don't get me wrong, flavor and throat hit are magnified, many times. Even over the Cisco Spec 306 that I've been using for a few weeks. Flavor and TH.... INTENSE. But, the vapor production just doesn't seem to be the same as I've seen. Good, but not CRAZY like I've seen with others.

I have the 1.5 ohm .357 and have gone up and down the range of the Twist voltage. I use mostly 80/20 VG/PG juice and some that's 100% VG. Vapor is good... but just does not compare to the the videos out there.

Is that the difference between the Twist and... a mod like a Provari? I know the Twist voltage is true, but I've seen that the voltage is not so true when under a load (can fluctuate). But voltage is voltage, right??? I shouldn't need to go beyond the "4.8V" to get the most out of a 1.5 ohm LR atomizer, right?

Why am I not getting the billowy clouds that others get? Unfortunately, that's what's going to satisfy me on this investment. I also don't want to buck-up for a high-priced mod. Maybe it needs to "break in"? I could already tell that this atty need to be cuddled more than my girlfriend. And just the same, It might take the right combo to unlock it's goodies!

I just got my 357 today and also using it on my twist. Funny thing you brought this up. When I was researching it I could never find a real review using it on a twist.

I go the 2.5 ohm as suggested by a user on another board. So far I'm with you. TH is much more, taste is very clean, vaper not so much.

I did read somewhere that it might take a couple days or a week to really get going but I only read that once. A couple people mentioned that they really didn't like it at first but then loved it after about a week. My guess is it needs to be broke in.

It cost a pretty penny but also hear it will last for months. I will be happy if I get 3-4 months out of it as is but really hope it starts producing better vaper.

Hey folks let me chime in here and say that the HH357 characteristically has a fairly substantial "break in" period. Keep vaping it and expect it to dramatically improve in performance with a bit of time. Just be sure to keep the atomizer nice and wet even when not using it; some will say that letting it dry out will reduce the lifespan (cant comment from experience because I try to always keep a few drops in it and not let it run dry).

I was a bit disappointed when I got my first one, mainly because of all the hype. After a week or so though it was performing beyond my expectations. Something to look forward to!

Also, its a bit finicky compared to other atomizers, so try mixing it up with different juices, different wattages (within reason!) and definetely experiment with different draw techniques...I "hit" my HH357 differently than anything else I vape and I think it makes a real difference. FWIW I have a twist but don't really use the HH357 on it, but I cant imagine any real difference battery to battery, except that there could be differences in airflow/draw depending on the 510 connection and whether its tight or not...

Keep faith and enjoy!

Unlike the nice slow draws I use on my carto-tanks, I use a fast draw on my HH. 357. Vapor production improved in the first couple of days using it.

There are two good videos on this page: http://www.avidvaper.com/products/HH.357-Cisco-Spec-Hybrid-510-Atomizer.html

The first one and the last one are video manuals on how to use the product. I hope you find something in these that help. It's a good atomizer..

Typed on my mobile. Please excuse typos.

When I got mine I was disappointed with the vapor production as well. I got the 2.5 long barrel. At first I used it then left it for a week and tried it again and it produced more vapor than anything I've used. The flavor is great and th superb. The break in time is really necessary for this to function at its prime. Remember you have to pull pretty hard on it to create the necessary suction it needs to function. give it some time and it won't let you down. I use my 2.5 at around 5-5.5 volts

Been using the HHs for a few months now, on both a Provari and an ego Twist, using 80VG/20PG juice. I notice a very subtle difference between the two setups (mainly around the flavour) but not to the extent that the OP describes. I haven't noticed any major difference in vapor. Based on my experience, the HH should work very well on an ego Twist.

Agree with the guys above who say the HHs have is a break in period. For me it was only a couple of days but YMMV. I use mine at around 8-9 watts, so make sure your voltage is dialed up properly. Also, when the HH gets flooded, even slightly, the vapor decreases substantially. So make sure you're not getting it too wet. There are a few videos on avid's site that show how to use the HH for maximum effect.

@ 4.8v and a 1.5Ω atty, you are asking your twist battery to pull 3.2 amps and push 15.36 watts. You are more than likely hitting the Twist's current cutoff limit.

The manufacturer does not recommend using attys below 2.2Ω on the Twist. You think that warning could have something to do with your performance?

Can't run 8v with a Twist.
It's not the Twist, nor the atty.
You need to find a happy medium between the gurgling and running dry to produce massive vapor. If you're running it hot, then faster draws as opposed to not.
Don't overthink it...just vape.

And another thing. From time to time, remove the atty and blow it out. Then redrip. Should see an improvement in vapor production.
