Somewhere in the US in my RV
I evidently picked up some virus or other, because yesterday, I woke up with raging cold symptoms, from sore throat to sneezing and congestion. OK, I'll live, but I was just getting to the point where my taste buds were recovering and I was beginning to truly appreciate some of my juices. And now I can't taste ANYthing!

Just last week I fell in love with MBV's Moo juice ... went through nearly half my 15ml bottle already. Right now, I get absolutely nothing from it. Might as well be vaping water. Flavors with a big throat hit, like caramel cappuccino or Melonballs of Fire, actually hurt. And I have two batches of new flavor samples coming tomorrow!

Oh, dang. At least it will be easier to wait while they steep. Meanwhile, I'm vaping my least favorites just to get my nic. I've been feeling so good for the past week. It just isn't fair to get sick now.

Can I at least hope that, even as a new vaper, I might recover from this virus faster than I would have when I was smoking a pack a day? For the past decade, it seems that every little bug I've caught turned into bronchitis and a 6-8 week recovery. You experienced vapers -- do you find you get well faster than you did as a smoker?

You'll come through just fine. It might not be any normal virus you've dealt with. It could be whats known as "quitters sickness". This happens not to everyone but to some when they quit smoking. It doesn't always hit right away. I was around 6 weeks in when it hit me. IF it is quitters sickness you should be over it rather quickly. It held me for about 2 days. But then again I get over all sickness rather quickly.

I honestly don't think smoking has anything to do with the common cold or flu. I was a smoker for 24 years and when I would get flu or cold symptoms they never lasted more than 24 hours. Usually less than that. Yet I know people that never smoked that spent days or weeks fighting the flu.

I'm no expert, this is based on some information I came across when I first started researching.

Yes, this is an excellent time to vape "Roadkill Flavor with Extra Asparagus." Getting rid of those "questionable" liquids is one of the few advantages of being ill. :)

Some find that heavy mints/menthols and cherry flavors are not only comforting, but punch through the tasteless thing and at least give yu some sensation of flavor. Personally, I could vape a Halls and never notice it when I get a cold.

You may notice that the cold doesn't settle in your chest quite so much, and you may have less after-cold coughing. Other than that, you'll have to suffer through everything else just like any smoker or non-smoker does, I'm afraid. I did notice I didn't feel quite as awful as I usually do during my last cold, which I attribute to not smoking while sick.

Congratulations on Day 19! Wow, you did it!

Sorry to hear you are sick. Sometimes I wake up my taste buds with a peppermint or something. Sometimes just drinking a lot of water.

New vapers go thru this stuff. next month you may dislike the juice you LOVED this week. :)

It's all normal. :) But really, way to go on quitting!

No. Negative. I don't play that game. I will be vaping Hypnotic Mist in my coffin. Once you find that one juice you'll stick w/ it I think, just like your brand of cigs....
