I started experimenting with ecigs a week ago. So far no analogs. When I have the occasional urge for a regular smoke, I take a couple vapes on my ecig.
Been smoking up to a pack a day for nearly 40 years. I've tried the patch. But there is something missing. I would miss that lung full of smoke. I am really liking these things. Now I just have to convince the wifey that this is OK. Her mother died from lung cancer. Now her father has it. He will be lucky to see next year. They were lifelong huffers. Wifey hates it & has never smoked.

Congrats! Stick with it. I smoked 3+ packs/day for over 30 yrs. Tried many times and methods to quit....nothing worked till I got an ecig in june of 2010. A month and a half after doing ecig, I tried to smoke one of my wifes analogs, couldn't even do half of it! Tasted like I put my head over a campfire and sucked it in. Havn't touched an analog since. If I can do it...anyone can! :)

to any other noobs like myself. going on 3rd day w no stinkies. Today I just got 4 more flavors (whiskey, black tea, mint, and turkish) and loaded up all my tanks with diff flavors and strengths(18 and 24). The novelty and variety is REALLY helping me to not smoke. this is the 3rd day I have no cigs in my house (I ran out and decided not to buy a backup pack) and so far I'm not freaking out. :p

For the first few days a couple of times I'd light up a cig and alternate puffs of analogue with vapes from my ego-t to PROVE to myself that cigs really are gross, and it worked, BUT, force of habit is strong, and if anyone can relate, for now, I miss the tactile squishiness and the lighting up of a cigarette. Hope I can stay strong. vaping some whiskey right now :)

You can do it. It gets even easier once you've gotten used to the modification of the habit.

I was amazed with each passing day in the beginning. That's always the hard part. A banner here that counted the days really helped out - it showed I was winning every time it updated. After a while, it sunk in that I wasn't 'quitting' any more - I was an ex-smoker who vapes. Then one day I looked at my signature and thought, "Wow! It's been over a month?"

Congrats! It's a great feeling that just keeps getting better!
Just remember to keep yourself stocked up - stalking the mailman is one thing; breaking down and buying a pack of smokes to hold you over WHILE stalking the mailman is another. I think a lot of us have done that or something similar, but the important thing is that we're still here and still vaping ;)

Congratulations. I'm right there with you. Today is day 5 for me with no analogs. When I purchased my ecig, I had no intention of quitting analogs. I've smoked for 38 years 1 1/2 to 2 packs a day. I just wanted an alternative. But after 2 days of going back and forth, I realized I enjoyed vapeing better then the smoke. And now if you offered me a cigarette, I would say no, not because I don't want to fail, but because I really don't want one.
