Where to start?

Hi,

New to this, so apologies if jargon used incorrectly!

I am looking to try e-cigs and think I will go for an ego-T. Any advice on this? I currently smoke a pack of Menthol 100s (hate 'normal' tobacco flavour) a day.

I have a 'stash' of analogue(?) to use up - but thought could start with e-cigs before I run out of the horrible weed. Long term, I would like to vape 100% with maybe the odd analogue cig here and there?

I'm in the UK - so any help with UK suppliers gratefully received.

Thanks. Lilyclare

Welcome to ECF. The eGo-T is an appropriate choice for a beginner. One UK sight I can recommend is Liberty-Flights. I use their US store and have nothing but praises for them. In addition to the eGo, make sure you get several different juices to try. Avoid buying large bottles until you know that you like the flavor.

Good Luck on your journey into vaping.

Liberty-Flights.co.uk is a good supplier - their US shop is very popular - good prices, they call things by their real name, good descriptions, and they state their warranties

Once you have 5 posts or replies (non-spammed) in New Members and an hour wait, you can post elsewhere. There is a UK forum in National Forums (I think they have a list of vendors), and there is a Europe forum there, and in Buying & Selling there are UK Classifieds and UK Vendor section

The eGo T is one of the good "beginner" models. Many people have problems with the tanks, however. Personally, I would go with the Riva UNC using cartomizers which Liberty Flights UK also sells or the E-Power 510 which performs as well or better but you save a lot of money on the batteries because they cost 3-4 times less than the eGo batteries and last 3-4 times longer:

e-Power

I'm not sure where they are sold in the UK although LF use to sell them.

I recommend you also pick up some Boge 510 cartomizers and learn to use them. Some flavors (like cinnamon) can damage plastic. Some flavors are very clingy and hard to get the flavor out of an atomizer so you might want to use a flavor like that in a cartomizer instead. And if you ever have atomizer problems, the cartos are a good backup. The Boge 3 ohm cartos are barely warm and easier to learn on, and the 2 ohm hotter ones are preferred on Ego but would be trickier to learn on (more likely to singe and get bitter burnt taste if you use inappropriate thick juice or don't keep the carto damp enough with liquid)

In general, tanks like juices with the thickness of PG w/ 30% VG or less (some thinned 50/50's may work). I think Boge cartos work best with 20% or less VG.

---

One problem though - I think in the UK, Janty (the designer, based in UK) has exclusive right to sell the real Joye/Janty Ego-T (what they call Janty Jet Tank or something). So if Liberty-Flights.com does not have Ego-T then the only place you may be able to get a real one is at iVapour.co.uk and I know somebody had problems with them not honoring a warranty. Then there is Totally Wicked Eliquid in the UK - they probably have an Inferno tank but that is probably a clone (not real Joye/Janty)

Welcome from across the pond. I cant speak for all the other brands but i gotta say i love my eGo T i dont have an issue with my tanks but i do see how they could leak over time. its ok the tanks are dirt cheap. As mentioned by Dormouse its not a bad idea to pick up some cartos. I am vaping clove right now and have this sinking feeling its gonna afix its flavor to this atty forever :(

As times goes on i want to try all of it cartos driiping etc. I am new to this and just figured the tank aounded the best, plus i can vape for a good while without refilling. the hassle free from filling is great for trips and work. When i head out to work i make sure i got a full tank and a fresh bat and i am set for the day.
