I have tried to quit smoking many times over the last 20+ years. Sunflower seeds, gum, patches, even chantex. Nothing has worked. I started vaping a few months ago and it has helped tremendously. I went from at least pack a day to 2 or 3 cigarettes a day with no problems. It's been five days without so much as a puff from an analog and I am determined to stick with it but today has been tough.

Congrats, lots of support over in the pif section at still smoking & support thread for when things get a little tough.

Congrats! Switching from cigarettes to vaping was so easy for me. I had been an on and off smoker for 30 years, but I was never able to entirely quit. The smoker's cough I had been developing cleared up in a month. I can't even stand the smell of cigarettes these days.
There are a lot of different choices in vape gear and juices. Just don't let the choices overwhelm you. There is a ton of info in the forums and a lot of good people who are more than willing to answer questions.

I agree with Chimney34, about upping your nicotine mg. at first especially. I started too low. I didn't light up a cigarette, and didn't actually have what I would call a craving, but I just felt vaguely uncomfortable all day, not quite right - like something was missing. I decided what was probably missing was the nicotine. I went up from 18 mg to 24 mg. and immediately I felt much more comfortable, and those feelings went away.

Keep at it, it will work for you, I know it will. I smoked 2 packs a day for over 40 years and am still amazed at how painless this process has been for me. And I'm actually having fun with it, too.:)

And big congrats on your five days. That is an accomplishment!

Voodooooo (or how many o's there are in there!)daddy, you're gonna find days like this. It happens.

Today is my 6 week anniversary of being analog free and for some reason, while fixing dinner tonight, I ALMOST lit a cigarette. Why? I don't know but the real urge was there.

Which really surprised me cuz I haven't had the urge in 6 weeks to even WANT a cigarette.

But I got over it, happily vaping away now.

Days like this do happen, hon, just try and deal with it as best you can.

If you have to resort to going back over to the "dark side" for a few, sobeit. As so many have said here, count the ones you didn't smoke, not the ones you did.

Just make sure to come back here for the great support. We'll help.

Congratulations, I know for me the first month was really that hardest. Even when I wasn't craving nicotine I still craved an analog. I can say that I have had an analog or two in the time I have been strictly vaping, and the ones I've had after I stuck with vaping just haven't been the same. After that first month, analogs taste like poop, and ever since then I haven't even wanted one because of that. Just sticks it hit and it gets much better.
