Day 2, no cigarettes.
I discovered e-cigarettes about 2 years ago with Blu. I went from a pack of cigarettes a day to about 15 cigarettes. After finding Vea, I was down to about a half pack a day. My Halo Triton arrived about a week and a half ago, and I cut back to 5 cigarettes/day. 2 days ago, I took a couple puffs of a cigarette, and put it out in disgust. I can honestly say I am done with cigarettes, after 20 years. Thanks Halo! :vapor:

Thanks. On day three, it seems I notice the smell of others smoking more than I previously did. I don't know how I smoked cigarettes for so long. I always hated the smell of cigarettes, and never smoked in my house, though. My wife is ecstatic.
After my initial starter kit, I bought a bunch of tanks, several sample packs and mini tanks to test flavors in. The mini tanks are better than cartos, in my opinion, but not nearly as good as the Triton tanks. They seem to heat up after a few draws. They are cheap and good for testing flavors, though.

Congrats stevegmu. Giving up cigarettes is different for everyone; don't measure your successes against others'.

To me, it was all about a combination of the right equipment and juices. The juices that easily got me off cigarettes didn't cut it through cartos. If you haven't seen it, check out my "Ran out of juice" thread.

I was a month away from my 20th anniversary of full-time smoking before I came across my current setup. Couldn't be happier. I still get a craving for a cigarette every now and again though. Don't know why, as they tasted like camp fire and licking an ash tray when I went back to them. As someone else said somewhere - if my juice tasted that bad, I'd have thrown it out immediately.

Thanks. Yeah, the cartos helped me cut down, but it was tanks which really did it. The throat hit, vapor production and taste of Halo juices really ruined smoking for me- kind of like when I switched from commercial cigarettes to all natural organic cigarette tobacco. I couldn't go back to commercial cigarettes after that.

What did you go from and to? I went from Newports to American Spirit Menthol. Not organic, but additive-free. After half a pack of those, I swear I could taste the ammonia and pesticides in Newports.

The American Spirits tasted sooo good. Then I started vaping. The American Spirits tasted like campfire and ashtray lickins'. Done with them.

After the cigarette tax drastically increased the price of cigarettes, I looked into stuff-your-own. Turns out 'pipe' tobacco was except. This wasn't easy, as I lived in Virginia at the time, which frowns on roll your own, so I ordered online. The makers of rolling tobacco quickly rebranded some of their their rolling tobacco lines to pipe tobacco- even though it really wasn't pipe tobacco-, as it was mostly except from the tax. I ended up on Kentucky Select USDA certified organic for the last 3 years, after moving to Ohio, where I could get it at a local tobacco store. It is basically pure tobacco- no additives, preservatives, pesticides. That ruined regular cigarettes for me after a while, as all I could taste from regular cigarettes were chemicals. Ended up tossing out my remaining tubes and tobacco this afternoon. As 'clean' as the organic tobacco I was smoking was, I just couldn't go back after Halo's e-juice.

I did the same thing about a year or two before I quit smoking...found out that the RYO tobacco was as "healthy" as you could get and still smoke (if there is such a thing)...but now I can't imagine having an analog again--difficult to breathe in the smoke and really do not like the smell anymore..
