I think he means some disassembly and "rebuild" it.
I only been vaping little over a month but here's advice I have learned from my experience.
Get spares! Items can get lost, broke, die
Even if just 2 or 3 extras, get extra atty and batts. Don't expect any of these components to last forever.
I have come to learn that e-cig parts are expendable, all are of varying quality, and their death are imminent.
You have extra juice/carts/cartos right? Same applies to attys and batts.
Second, get a cheap multi meter. These can be had nearly anywhere for $5 or less. Using it can tell you if an atty is gone or if the battery has a stuck switch, etc. Post or do a search and someone will show you how to check them.
Look at this thread too.
Simple Atty Fix
No guarantee this is your problem but wirth a look and could maybe help you out in the future.
JHO, but e-cigs, at least my 510, is a component system, meaning the e-cig itself is made up of separate replaceable parts. So try to keep enough spare parts around so that you could build a whole complete unit from your spares. Just imagine going out for the evening and something happens where you loose your e-cig. Just a thought, thats why I have a pt at home. What am I going to do if my batts die or all go down at once and require recharging?
I know money can be an issue for folks, it certainly is for me. But I figured out early that what ever I was going to save using e-cigs was not going to be seen immediately. So invest near the same you did for analogs to get yourself set up so you don't have setbacks that will make you feel devastated. Remember the Boy Scout motto.
And of course, YMMV.
