Wife blew out the brake light on her Matrix so I went to Canadian Tire to pick up a replacement. Thought I'd check out the electrical section while there & found an awesome deal that I'm passing along to you guys.

Mastercraft Deluxe Digital Multimeter: Reg. $54.99, on sale for $14.99.Product #
52-0055-6

Here's the link: Mastercraft Deluxe Digital Volt Meter | Canadian Tire

They have all their Mastercraft multimeters marked down to that price. Did not make sense not to get the best one they had.

Enjoy!

P.S - She got her GE Nighthawk brake lights for free. It was the least I could do. ;)

I wouldn't buy the cheap car starters at CTC. The only brands I can personally recommend (and have known people have been satisfied with) are Viper and Compustar.

I agree.. too many issues with cheapo brands. What do Crappy Tire carry anyway?

hmm, there are a few things I was planning on picking up tomorrow at crappy tire. Might need to grab this to replace my $10 one.

This is for my kids honest. I might help put it together of course. ;)

i had that POS multimeter and i can say its nothing but junk.no auto shut off feature and no continuity tester either.also doesnt come with batteries.it lasted all of 2 weeks, then the ohm readings were fuzzed too.mastercrap.

Sorry to hear about your misadventures with the "Mastercrap" multimeter. If I dropped $55 on it, and it died in two weeks, I'd be ...... too. The way I see it, I paid $15 for it. If it lasts, it lasts. If it doesn't, it doesn't.

Happy Vaping!

There is only 2 ways to buy tools.

1) buy the most expensive whatever on the market, take care of it and you will be handing it down to your kids

2) buy the cheapest piece of... there is out there, and expect it to be disposable.

It’s the mid priced ones that work like crap for the money and cost you more in the long run.

Those cheap mastercrap multimeters are my choice, as many of mine have met an untimely death being left under the hood of the car… Ohms can a bit jumpy, but it gives you the idea. I have also used one of those cheapies to balance 3 phase power out of a converter at 600 volts at one end, and measure 3.3-3.7 accurately at the other end. Good enough for me...

Your either a brave man, or a foolish one with a death wish, lol......

I won't even look at 600v without a Fluke or Ideal with load protection and fused leads. Seen too many hurt messing with electrical with cheapies to save a buck for my liking.

Agreed. For some things, like my soldering iron and tweezers (for SMD soldering, I needed tweezers that actually line up right, which 99% of cheap ones don't) I spent good money. Then you look at my screwdrivers...the kind that come 10 in a pack from the dollar store. They fall apart after a month or so, but they were a dollar. I used to have expensive ones...they do you no good if you lose them!
