I got a passthru from greensmoke back when I first got started, and didn't really use it that much. About 6 months later, I got one for my Puresmoker Protege. It looked completely different. Thick, sturdy cable. Gave monster hits. So I'd say not all of these things are created equally by far. But if you go that much use out of one, I'd say it's a safe bet to grab another.

If it's a true passthrough, rather than a sit-and-go (one of the ones with a built-in-battery), you're limited only by button failure or wire failure (from flexing it). My work 808 manual PT is solid after 5+ months at work, heavy use daily -- I'll just clean the connector end every so often, a quick soak in a capful of isopropyl alcohol, then a wipe down and some drying time.

Thanks. I'll give that a shot. No battery, that's why I was sort of confused. (surprise.....)

My question is this, where the heck to get a good, solid 808 passthrough (without breaking the bank)??

I have an old automatic Vapor4Life PT(5 volt) that I got over a year ago and it has always worked flawlessly. Gets lots of use, daily. V4L's are kr808d-1 batteries and the PT's sell for 19.95.. Since I purchased mine so long ago, the vendor has come out with newer, better(supposedly) versions. Not sure how they compare but I hope I've helped you:)

vapor4life manual is the one I have at my desk, use it all day at work.
Also been pretty happy with an NHaler auto (failed only due to operator stress on the wire -- I kept shoving it into the console in my car, flexing the wires a lot several times a day), and vaporsetc auto. On all of them I do the isopropyl alcohol soak periodically, to clear any juice buildup on the connector.
