First off you will have a devil of a time putting donuts in a 306! That is a 510 atty trick.

You will get the most benefit from removing the wick that is right under the bridge because it is the main source of a burned taste. It's real easy to remove before you use the atty. Removing the bridge is more for convenience than anything else. It really doesn't change the taste much if at all. It does make the atty a little easier to use and clean.

I will be getting my first 306 atty soon. Actually, this will be my first atty ever. I have only used cartos. Is there a significant benefit to debridging them? Any other tips or tricks?

I was the same as you; I'd used cartos since I'd started vaping and bought 306's a little over a month ago because of all the hype. I initially hated them because they're (I'm going to use a word Grimm Green used that illustrates perfectly) "spitty". They spit SUPER hot juice back into your mouth even when you don't flood it. This was, of course while I was using a delrin drip tip... the actual plastic empty cart it came with was better than the delrin drip tip.

    BUT ALL WAS SAVED TODAY...

Do yourself a favor, a HUGE favor, BUY A CANNON DRIP TIP!!!!!! Mine came in today and I'VE BEEN IN VAPE HEAVEN ALL DAY LONG! (Literally haven't vaped this much since I was trying to quit smoking)

I agree with the others, you definitely want to take the wick out, which is the easiest thing in the world to do, youtube it, you'll see. AND DEFINITELY, ABSOLUTELY, WITHOUT A DOUBT, buy yourself a Cannon. I promise it makes ALL THE DIFFERENCE.
(I've debridged three and am using one that I've only dewicked and I think I like it with the bridge better.)
Cleaning either should be about the same, I do vodka soaks: 48 hour soaking period, followed by blowing through it to get the vodka out and another 24 hour standing drying time.

Your atty will hold more juice, leak less and vape better with the bridge and wick intact imo. I drip almost exclusively. I haven't had a burnt taste in months. I've tried several debridged and dewicked attys 306s and 510s. I didn't enjoy them more and their lifespan was less. It takes a little patience to learn to use an atomizer but it's worth it. It's the purest, most enjoyable form of vaping I know of.

    306 Tips
    > Remember to always keep your 306 wet. They're unforgiving if you fire them dry. It kills them instantly. One atty can last you months. You'll get the hang of it.
    > To prime a new atty put some unflavored PG or dilutant in it, put on the DT and blow it through a couple of times into a tissue before you put it on your PV/ecig. Drip down into the cup on both sides, blow, repeat.
    > Put it on your PV and put a couple of drops on each side (306s hold more juice than 510s). Put on your DT and take a primer pull (don't inhale) drip a couple more drops through your DT and vape. If there's any unpleasant taste, blow out the atty again and repeat. You only have to do all this one time, when it's a brand-new atty.

    Daily use
    > Drip a couple of drops on either side into the cup, put on your DT, take a pull, add a couple or three more drops through your DT and you're good for a nice vape session.
    > Listen to your atty. When you get a perfect vape listen to the sizzle sound it makes while firing. You'll learn that sound and avoid burnt taste alltogether. Flavor will start to diminish after a couple more long or a several more short pulls. Drip 3-4 drops down your DT. If you're vaping high VG that's thick blow down the DT to help the juice along. Try to take the DT off as little as possible. The 306 drip tips (all of them) stretch out over time. It doesn't fit snug all the way down your atty. You'll have about 1/8 inch atty showing.
    > Harsh cleaning rituals shorten your atty's service. Rinse in hot water and blow out the water before bed and it'll be ready in the morning.
    > If you get skunk juice in your atty - something minty or a disgusting flavor that lingers, soak your atty in a white vinegar and hot water bath for a bit and rinse. If that doesn't work try pure grain alcohol or vodka overnight.

If you decide you must debridge or dewick your atty be sure to clean it and blow it out well. You don't want to inhale metal particles. Treat it like a brand new atty.

Hope you enjoy your atty. I just love them and am a tad embarassed about going on and on.... but I'm going to click submit  Good luck. :p

You guys are really great! I am so glad that I joined this forum. You all are really, really helpful. All of my friends still smoke analog cigs despite my efforts at showing them how great vaping is, so i don't really have anyone to bounce ideas off of. I think i will try it as it comes (priming it! i had no idea), then dewick if i am getting the burning taste. I am really excited to use the 306 on my reo mini seeing as how they will go so well together. Cant wait to get that sweet dripping taste that everyone talks about! Thank you.

I dewick my 306s immediately when I first get them. The wick is not needed unless you use carts with them. At the first cleaning when it gets gunked up, I then debridge it so I can properly see and clean the coil.

Delrin tips work great, you just have to buy the long or XL ones. You will get hot juice in your mouth with the little shorty regular ones you often get for free with 306s. Some places like Avidvaper sell a 306 to 510 drip tip adapter that allows you to use a regular 510 tip.

Since this is your first 306, I'd try it the way it comes first. One thing that was not intuitive to me is that you have to screw the atty onto a battery to pull of the plastic cover that comes over it. It is usually a tight fit. I stared at that thing for quite a while before I figured it came off.
