this is something I have been toying around with doing... but I want to go a bit more large scale...

I want to build two stands... one larger stand that has room to hold a variety of things... but has a nice center to have room for everything needed to build, room for everything to mix... room to fiddle and play... i want to have something large to just play with and have fun...

then the other i want to be the set aside station... i want it to hold all my liquids, or at least most, my kanthal, tools, charger, etc... i want to create a storage stand...

i dont know im toying with various ideas... i have done some minor woodworking before, however i am going to have my work cut out for me... thepmc81 i might be pming you later about the basics/advanced parts of woodworking if thats cool with you...

I've never gotten good results with staining a soft wood like pine. I'd recommend going with a clear coat finish. I really like using a equal mix of shellac, boiled linseed oil, and denatured alcohol. Sand it smooth to 600 grit. It takes time, but once you apply a finish you won't have to worry about scratches showing through on the finished product. Then buff in applications of the shellac mix and it will give it a clear deep look. I used to apply this mix on my mini lathe projects and it was awesome. Of course, I had the advantage of the lathe doing most of the grunt work. I've got some walnut boards in the garage that I haven't been able to decide on a project for. I think you may have given me the inspiration I needed to pull them back out. Thank you.
