Hi All, I've been doing quite a bit of reading, watching, researching, and I've come to the decision that in my quest for a vaping equivelent of my cigar smoking pleasure, that a vv apv is money better spent than the disposable figure it out route. I went from 3packs of cigs to cigars, I won't blather about the huge difference in smoking, but looking at vaping, I would like to find the same richness as my cigars, hence the vv route.

So the decision now is, a LT2.0, or a Provari, either has the features I'm thinking will allow me the most flexibility, one is a new model, one is twice as expensive yes... But my question is, I've read posts they take the same batteries (I'll be looking for the longest lasting batteries so 18650s or so I believe), and they are both 510 threaded....

Now I'm also thinking that I'll need a backup to whichever I get, so I'll probably end up getting one then the other in some order. I've read a number of posts that say don't get a kit, get the individual parts, and I can understand the logic to that in most regards (especially since I'm interested in a black provari, and the LT2.0 isn't in a kit anyway) so is there some recommendation on battery charger? I've looked at the battery thread, and the LT has a Xtar, provari has a tenergy, and I saw the panasonic battery thread as well. Someone correct me if I'm wrong in this logic, but a longer lasting battery equals longer life span due to longer periods between charges. If Volcano or Provape say the panasonics would void the warranty, oh well, but if not, what charger to get. I have boxes of redundant this and that and I'd like to avoid that if possible with this lol.

I'm planning on trying dripping for the apparent better flavor, and since I work from home I'm not neccessarily worried about fiddle factor for now. For me it's the quality of vape, since that's what will seal away any of my unsmoked cigars. I figure it'll also be the easiest on kit while I check out different flavors of juice. Is there one atty that's better than others in the starter range, since I can't at this point see paying 30$ for an atty like the HH357's off the bat. Will pretty much any do? I'm planning on getting different ohm versions, but is there one better than another for dripping in the 5~8$ range (which seems the average price)?

As far as cartos, which I will try also, I've read alot of positives about boge, but one website mentioned something of a qc issue as of late, not a bad choice for a starting part, or something else would be better?

As far as tanks, where I'm possibly (probably?) going to end up, I'll try them of course, but for now, in the anticipation of going through lots of different small samples, a tank is something I can get later. I'm also still wading through all the info on them anyway. But as far as a atty, carto or tank, I've read a few things on leak shields, adapters and such, and is there something that I should be looking at for either or both to have them not leak from a gear standpoint (I have to learn to use it all correctly of course) that will also make it look mmm, continuous and not a small pipe stuck into a bigger pipe? I recall something about a sealed 510-510 adapter for something... ~_~;

tyia for any suggestions.

It sounds like you haven't yet tried vaping. A provari is a lot of money for someone to throw down if they never tried vaping to begin with. your best bet, imo, would be to pick up an ego battery. It's a passthrough so you can vape while it rechargesand a 1000 mah battery should last you all day. For the vv experience get the twist. Save your money for tanks, carts, atties and juices. Find out what you like first at a price that you can afford to try everything b4 you step up to a high dollar mod. Just my advice.

Yep, you're right I havn't. And yeah, lol I've had my finger on the trigger all day and havn't pulled yet, but after reading up on what's available, I just can't see spending the money on something that's basically disposable to begin with. And I've yet to read a post from someone with a provari or LT that's had it go TU in two weeks. Worst case, I can always resell it and get more back from the intial investment. And I'll have a look at those 306 lr's. Thanks.

Well i can tell you that the provari is very tempting and noone ever complains about them(except for the price). But i just have two ego batts and they've done me just fine for a year now. They've more than paid for themselves and allowed me to try atties, carts, tanks, and any other setup i wanted without having to learn how to tweak my device to my setup. I'm sure not telling you don't get an apv, just sharing my thoughts and experiences. Whatever you decide, though just make sure you drop those stinky sticks and never look back! Good luck!

If you can swing a Provari, and that's what you want go for it. I think it's smart to start with something with resale value if you can swing it. I dinked around with a few "beginner" kits and wished I had just bought the one that I had my eye on in the first place. I would have saved myself quite a bit of money in the long run.

Go with the battery that the manufacturer suggests. The safety features built into the mod are typically designed around a certain make and model of battery. It's not so much about voiding your warranty as it is about preventing the thing from blowing up in your hand. It's rare, but battery fires are nasty.

I have a Pila charger from lighthound.com- it's an upgrade, and pretty much top of the line. I did just fine with a Trustfire charger as well. Look for one that accepts different sizes of batteries so you're not locked into buying a new charger for different sizes of batteries.

If you've never really tried vaping pick up a disposable from walgreens. Take note of your experience and come back here. From there people can tell you whether that will change without better device/juice etc.

No offense, but I've read plenty of "Those are carp, get ____ with ____". ;) And I know some disposable isn't going to come close to what I get from the cigars I smoke. I'd rather put that money on kit.

Yeah Cecilia said basically the same thing in her reply about the panasonic battery, it won't void the warranty but it's untested. So for now, I'll just stick with the AW's. Regarding the Pila charger, the tenergy does various sizes also, but I do see the listed different way it charges the batteries, have you noticed any increase in battery longevity or something that would put this on the thing to get next month list?

And @bruiser, Sweet Vapes is listing 4$ more now, so I'll just get the whole thing from provape and save some money on shipping/cost since it'll be a desk unit.

Thanks for the replys~

LT is 4.0 now. That is, the L-Rider release of LT. I don't think you can go wrong with either LT or provari, just a matter of budget. And experience, of course, as Escapereality said. I'm new, but not so new, since I've had my e-cig experience with 510 kit back 3 years ago, so I know what I don't and what I do want for my PV. Personally, an Ego kit would do just fine for a first time experience. I go with LT for my "comeback" to vaping, yet I still want an Ego for my setup :).
