Here, Kitty, Kitty. I have some questions for you.

I'm interested in trying a tank, but…
The pre-drilled cartos are 1.5ohm so they're low voltage, correct? When combined with an MBM, what would the effective voltage be if one doesn't like to pump the switch?

If one were to use it on a 3.7V eGo-T battery (despite the fact that one's hand does not like holding round PVs for long periods of time), what would the effective voltage be?

I don't have any standard eGo-style batteries lying around. May I assume that the 5-ML tank, which is about 1/2" wider than that, would fit on an MBM without interfering with the switch?

Carrie was found buried 5 feet deep under a pile of text books. Extrication was touch and go, but it can be happily reported that she survived, bruised but in one piece :)

Whew!! :)

whew! close shave Carrie!!

Using a Gillette Fusion?

Ralph can override the tech answers I'm about to give...

Effective voltage (to my mind) isn't the question... effective power (wattage) is...

Understand... I've had only a tiny amount of coffee as yet, but using a 1.5ohm carto on an MBM would have it run at 15.4 watts

MBM @ 4.8v: P = ( E / R ) * E = ( 4.8 / 1.5 ) * 4.8 = 3.2 * 4.8 = 15.36 Watts
(where P = power in watts, E = voltage, R = resistance in ohms)

EGO @ 3.7v: P = ( E / R ) * E = ( 3.7 / 1.5 ) * 3.7 = 2.4666 * 3.7 = 9.12642 Watts (some rounding)
(where P = power in watts, E = voltage, R = resistance in ohms)

When I used a tank on my MBM, what I found was not that I needed to pump it, but that I didn't hold the switch down as long. If I had to guess, I'd say for 2 seconds (?)... the response was VERY fast.

For comparison, on a 3.7 power source it'd be a bit longer... 3 or 4 secs. But then, even when I smoked I didn't inhale directly... I filled my mouth, then inhaled that. I vape the same way.

Now... as to using a tank on the MBM... the switch wasn't the problem, it was the lip of the MGM's lid that was the problem. To use the tank on an MBM, you need a 510-510 adapter to extend the connector enough that the bottom of the tank clears the lip.

Using the adapter would be needed even on the smaller tank... it's not the diameter that gets you... it's the lip on the MBM lid.

Anyway... I've used the tank on my MBM, ProVari, and regular/extended EGO batts. I liked it best on the MBM and ProVari (set to 4.2v).

(man... I hope this all made sense...)

Oh! The pre-drilled carto is the same resistance as the cartos I was bundling with the MBM... Ralph had already "approved" that resistance.... :)

(all calcs based on perfect DC circuits... good thing, too, as I doubt I could calculate Thevenin equivalencies for AC anymore...)

Thank you!

Although I've never tried a straight-razor, I have used a number of depilatory implements...

My current favorites are the powered Fusion and a Wahl micro trimmer. :)

all of which reminds me... I am due for a shave...

Nooooo, leave the kitty whiskers alone!!!

Happy 02/02 Deej...sters. :)

It's the whiskers that make the cat, Deej! :)

They are ok, but using a straight razor is a pure adrenaline rush... perfect for the apocalypse fighting kitty :)

That's ok, it leaves more for me to find at flea markets and antique stores lol

While you're there, can you find me a wind-up watch? I hate these battery watches, runs out at the worst time. I miss the winding kind. Either that or I'll have to spring $60 for a "kinetic" watch...a new concept that's been around since the 70's. :glare: :D

And Congrats on last couple weeks of school!! :)

Ahh, like an old fashioned Timex.. Yeah I don't go out much during the winter, but I'll keep an eye out for you. Probably be under $20.

Kidding. Don't run out in the cold for an old watch.

I guess nobody uses a watch anymore, as long as they have their cell phones.

And Eleanor, if you don't post something here, I'm gonna have to track you down and issue random 'likes'. :p
