uh.... not good...
the only time I've seen a "powdery" display is when the plastic shipping overlay was still attached to the screen. LED displays are supposed to be very sharp!
Thanks. It must be the settings then. I haven't installed the CD that came with yet. Will do that after I log off today.
Oh! Yes! Settings! They'll likely be different for an LED vs LCD or CRT.
Resolution will be an issue, too. If the vid driver is set to the wrong resolution (aka other than the monitor's native resolution) that can be a problem.

I'll report back tomorrow after installing driver, etc. Should be better, fingers crossed.

Reporting back on new 'back lit' LED monitor...I like my old LCD better.
Played with it for an hour but couldn't match the contrast of old one. It's a little better if I increase the brightness, but I don't like it glowing all day, like a little dimmer, personal choice. It's mail order so I'll just settle...
