defective battery?

I just got my first ecig in the mail today and I'm wondering if I have a defective battery. I charged it for about 8 hours and screwed it on the atomizer. When I take a drag, the led will light up, but then it will cut off mid drag after 1 or 2 seconds. If i pull a little harder, I can get it to light back up, but then it just cuts off again after a second.

Just wondering if this sounds like a defective battery or if anyone has any suggestions.

Max Power--if it is an electric as opposed to a pressure switch --then I would consider that battery a DOA----Sun

It's the battery with a too short of a cut off switch. Send them back after you e-mail the seller. Some battery have a auto timer that cuts off when to take too long a drag on them or too many drags at a time.

If it was the auto cutoff, wouldn't it not be smokable for 2 minutes?

I have two battery that do that and one is good for a primer puff and the other is good for 2 and 1/2 puff then after a few minites you start all over. I bought them from a bad outfit and returned them and I believe they sent me back the same batteries. I got them in replaced August of 2008 and they still work. If you want to call that working. LOL
