Hey everyone. I've been ordering and experimenting with different juices. I was vaping TW's menthol for a few weeks as my main vape. I then got some Dekang menthol. Well, I have noticed with the dekang menthol that it kind of irritates me in my lungs. It "hitd" me in the center of my lungs and burns a little. This is ok if you want a really realistic feel, but it got me thinking.

Also, I noticed to have what it seems to be like an acid reflux sort of feeling in my throat after I vape it a lot. Like it is building up in the back of my throat.

Now with TW's liquid, I get no chest irritation or any of these feelings.

Have any of you experienced this, and what do you think the differences are between these juices?

By the way, the dekang juice I have is 24mg and the TW juice is 18mg, so that might explain a difference.

This is most likely it. Menthol/mint, etc. are the same extracts, basically. I can't vape 24mg on a regular basis without feeling it, but 18 is fine - 8mg I need more.

Yeah, but I don't have that. I am talking about lung and throat issues. I mean, juices are different. I am wondering if anyone has experienced what I am talking about.

People have different reactions. I'm saying that the menthol and mint extracts are similar if not the same - most extracts come from china as I've read or heard from various vendors even in the US. So if it's not the flavor then it's the nicotine... follow?

Yeah the menthols are mostly the same - I've tried just about every vendor and its the strong minty taste. It could be different concentrations of flavor, PG, and nicotine.

I vape the 16mg menthol from litecig, which I guess is dekang juice... the menthol flavor hits like a champ, and occasionally I even feel a little bite in my throat and lungs.
I have not however noticed any truly unpleasant levels, to me this is part and parcel to a strong menthol taste/fragrance, not all that different from a menthol cig or cough drop.

Now, when I've gotten little bits of the liquid in my mouth from a flooded atty or overfilled cart... that's when I notice unpleasant side effects, including my acid reflux kicking into high gear, and almost instant headache (probably the nicotine rush from being absorbed through the soft tissue). I also felt a slight fast/irregular heartbeat last night after I'd been vaping pretty constantly on the drive home AND got some wayward liquid... it was about as bad as overindulgence in analogs ever got.

Sat down with a big glass of cold water and took it easy to treat both :p

I know the feeling OP is talking about as I get it as well. I was using 24mg Dekang juices and the feeling he is describing in his throat is kind of like having a "frog" in your throat that wont clear. I have tried 18mg Dekang juice and it takes MUCH longer for this feeling to happen to me. I am thinking it is the nicotine that is doing it. I also have noticed a slight increase to my heartburn (which I have frequently anyways). I notice if I use 24mg as if I were using analogs (every hour or two) then I am fine. Its when I sit down in front of the computer and really "chief" on my PV for a while that the side effects start happening.

Yep. Same here. Except I notice it in a different way, although I have gotten the heartburn.

I have been thinking about this. It could be the way you are inhaling the vapor. I almost always "straight inhale" instead of pulling into my mouth and then inhaling like you would normally with a cigarette. I am thinking that I may be pulling some of the vapor into my stomach at times which could be contributing to the heartburn problem for me. I have also noticed that adding some VG helps somewhat. My formula for adding VG:

Bottle size x 1.5 = How many drops of VG to add to bottle.

Example - 10 mL bottle x 1.5 = 15 drops of VG added to bottle.

This only reduces nic content slightly, makes juice a tad thicker and of course more vapor with slightly less throat hit I have noticed (personally dont mind having less throat hit). I havent noticed much of a flavor difference although some may with weaker tasting juices (apple comes to mind).

Hope this helps some.
