I just got my first mech mod about 4 days ago and im loving it!
Untill today...i dropped my vgod pro mech 2 mod from my desk and it hit the floor (i didnt have my switch on and no battery as i was charging it)i didnt mind so i put it back and went off to see a friend. But as i got back and when to but the battery in,i couldnt put the switch on and i see a dent on the botton where the threads are.
Any ideas how i can safely undo the dent?and possibly make the threads smooth again if it involves hammering.

IMO not a chance. Take a picture of the damage if you can.
I agree with Vinny. :thumb:

Ironic how die hard mech users talk about how indestructable mech mods are, but I think you may have ruined yours in a very vulnerable spot. Need to see the damage done in a good pic to see if it can be repaired, but I wouldn't get my hopes up high.

You might be able to hammer out the dent with the right tools, but if the threading has been damaged I don't have any idea how that could be repaired. It might have to be re-machined by the manufacturer.

Is it safe? It's a direct battery hybrid top mech. Those are never safe in my opinion, ESPECIALLY if its your first mech.

What atomizer were you using on it?

OK, good.

Hopefully, you've educated yourself on the safe usage of a hybrid top mod, and already know that you can't put just any juice attachment on one. The attachment has to have an extended center pin to prevent shorting out the battery.

I've been using mechs for several years. I know all about battery and mech mod safety. But still, I would never use a hybrid top mechanical mod. It's a poor and dangerous design that serves no real purpose. Be safe.

Getting dents out of metal is a skill on its own. There's special tools and a lot of experience involved to do it properly. With a household hammer there's about zero chance of doing a good job, it has the wrong shape and you'd need a counter block for the radius and threads you have (usually only made by request). Both tools together probably more expensive than your mod.

There is a huge difference between hammering out a dent and hammering out a dent with threads on it.You are going to repair copper threads with a hammer?Good luck. As far as the question of safe or not? The O.P. is the one who's face gets burned so he/she will have to decide whether they want to take the risk or not.I wouldn't.

I personally would take it to a machine shop and ask them if they think it could be repaired. But I also have connections in machine shops and live just a couple minutes away from a couple. Is that a clone mech tube or authentic? If its authentic you may contact the manufacturer and see if they can help. If it is a clone you will not have any manufacturer support.

Running a damaged mech tube would make me nervous, so I wouldnt do it. But as others said, its your risk to judge.

You’ve had some suggestions as to take it to a machine shop or contact the manufacturer to see if they can repair it which is probably the best suggestion other than hybrids are dangerous especially in the hands of noobies which you obviously are otherwise you wouldn’t be asking what could happen.

Be Safe.

I agree that it seems you want to get the answer your looking for. At least it seems that way to me. I for one would not tell anyone to use a damaged mod of any sort just because if I did then later found out it caused an injury, I would feel partially responsible. So my personal suggestion is to contact the manufacturer and not to use it until the problem is fully sorted out.
