I made my first mod last week and it took forever. I have been working on the second one trying to work out the kinks getting it as compact as possible and doing the least amount of soldering because soldering is a nightmare period. I even tried to hard wire it with paper clips but soon found out to NOT DO THAT...almost burned a hole straight through the battery but got it disconnected in time and it just left a scorch mark. This ti me I went and bought a bunch of terminals which helped with not soldering as much but the .... takes up way to much room. I see a lot of other people mods straight up compact city with their battery configuration like a flash light. That looks like the way to go and is probably the safest method to use. But how in the hell do you guys get your wiring connected without shorting out or having a weak connection somewhere? Another thing is the only switches that I found that will work are these huge 20 amp switches. How in the world are you guys using what looks like 0.5 amp tiny switches and not having them fry and work correctly? If anybody can explain that to me I would love to here the answers. Thanks.

P.S. Here is most recent 7.4 volt mod that I need a high voltage atomizer for and a way to enclose it in something.

To prevent shorting cover any exposed conductors with shrinkwrap. If you want to make safe mods, not knowing how to solder will be your crutch. Get one of those electronics kits from radioshack (like the christmas tree thing u put together urself) and practice on that or loose pieces of wire, etc. And read this: http://mightyohm.com/files/soldercomic/FullSolderComic_EN.pdf

Soldering should not be a show stopper for you. It's really not that hard. There are some great tutorials on soldering out there you can find with a quick YouTube search. These are really good;

A MOSFET is a transistor used as a solid state switch for high currents. You slave it to a small mechanical switch with a low current rating like a tactile switch. They're pretty easy to work with. Selecting the right one is actually harder than wiring one up.
