In power mode, it seems to hit hard and fast. I've only had it up to 45w, but it seems to perform very well at that level. Not sure how the chip will perform in TC mode since I don't use it. I don't think users will have issues with it in power mode. 45w is higher than I usually vape, so I haven't tried above that level.

I was worried about the 510 having a large gap at the top between it and the mod from the pictures. It does not. The metal of the case almost meets the top (or does). I don't think there will be leaking into the mod from outside the 510 like I was concerned with.

The mod feels good in the hand, but I do wish the squonk hole was a little wider. I'm left handed, and as a leftie, I have to finger fire the mod to have my ring finger on the squonk bottle. It would be easier for me if the opening were a little wider. I did try it in my right hand and it is more comfortable there. In my right hand, it's a thumb fire and ring finger on that hand seems to rest more comfortably on the bottle. The hold could probably be a little wider for righties too though. I do like the way the mod feels, but as a leftie, I feel at a disadvantage with it. Perhaps it will get more comfortable once I get some muscle memory with it.

The logo on the Sub Ohm edition is pretty cool if you like that kind of thing. Lights up when you fire. I think it pulses and possibly changes colors if charging internally to indicate charge status.

Finish seems nice, a matte black and seems durable, but only time will tell.

Bottle system is standard. I tried CoilMaster and Varitube bottle, both fit fine and no issues. The included bottle seems to be of reasonable quality silicone, not a throw away.

Battery is 18650 (with adapter) and 21700. I also tried a 20700 it in, and works great. No shifting of the 20700 in the battery compartment with pretty vigorous shaking.

It seems like a really decent mod overall. My only complaint (so far) using it in power mode, is I wish the squonk hole wre a little wider. Again, this might not be as much of an issue for righties, or others. Could just be me.

Would I buy it again at this point? Yes, if the squonk hole were wider or it felt a little more comfortable for a leftie.

It will be interesting to see if VaporDNA (or other sites) start to carry the 'regular' edition and if so what the cost will be. I would expect it would be a bit less expensive than the Sub Ohm edition.

Keep in mind, I've only had it since Monday afternoon and haven't used it as my only mod for a full day yet.

@puffon any thoughts on your end?

    You pretty much nailed it.
So far I like it. I vape the same way, have not tried the TC.
Not sure why anyone would want the pulsing light on all the time, but can be turned off, so it only comes on when firing.
The full body size screen can be a finger print magnet, as expected tho.
Being a righty it's is easy to thumb or finger fire, but someone with shorter fingers, it might be harder to finger fire.
Been using YFTK bottles, which fit fine.
Has a solid quality feel to it. So far no leaks from the 510.
The only con for me is it's not as small as the RSQ, which is about the smallest out there now, but only takes 18650s.
Felix Vapes is the only reviewer with it, I think...

I'm right handed, and it is slightly awkward for me to use it right handed as my index finger is barely long enough to reach the fire button. But left handed is okay.I put my tobihno on it which has a 24 gauge kanthal round wire build at 0.5 ohms and running it at 25watts.At 30watts it hit too hard for me,so seems it might be slightly overpowered. But I would rather have that than underpowered.I agree that the squonk hole could be a little larger.I don't use temp control or power curves,so haven't tested those functions.I tried yftk, coilmaster, and modmaker bottles in it,which all fit fine.Running it with an iJoy 20700 with no problems.Overall,it hasn't blown my socks off,but I'm not ...... that I bought it.It will get used and I may fall head over heels with it once I adjust and get use to it.I would say that Desire has done a good job on this one.Now I'm thinking about ordering a blue recurve rda to match the buttons!

I would buy that, lol. Would be sweet if they could slam a small board into something the size of a current Squeeze or slightly larger. :thumb: I'd be in the front of the line for one of those.

I vape lower wattages (up to 30w usually), with single coil RDAs for my squonks, so a tiny single battery device and me carrying a spare battery would be perfect.

Don't mind a large mod at the house, but this would be perfect for out and about. I've yet to see a double battery squonk that has done anything for me.
try vapor storm raptor, is just slight bigger than my augvape squonk but it come with mosfet n 21700 batt, build quality is good too .... most important it only cost 20 :)

You know, I'm really starting to like the Desire Cut.

Still have only been using power mode, but running a 0.62 ohm kanthal hive coil in a blue Nudge 22 on it and I've really enjoying this. The blue Nudge looks great with the blue bottons on the Sub Ohm edition. At 25w, it hits a good bit harder (and faster) than the RSQ. Swapped the RDA back/forth a few times today to compare, it's definitely noticeable. Not saying the RSQ is underpowered, it's possible the Cut is overpowered.

Anyways, no leaks so far, still using the stock bottle. I've actually gotten really comfortable finger firing it and using it with my left hand. While I still wish the squonk hole were a little wider, I can easily shift my finger to squeeze the bottle now. I've gotten used to it.

I've got some Samsung 40T's, but figured I would try the Sanyo 20700B's in it first. Running at 30w all day, I still have a ton of battery life left at bedtime. I could most likely get 1.5 days possibly 2 on that battery. I think tomorrow I will start off fully charged, and see how long it takes to run it completely down. Also want to see the cutoff voltage when it refuses to fire.

It's been several years since I've tried TC, I may give it a shot next week once I test the battery usage some this weekend.

A few basic questions if I try temp control using SS316L.

    1) Planning on building 0.5 ohm SS wire coil so I can vape it in power mode if TC is a bust. Does it matter if it's a spaced coil, or can I roll it as a contact coil? Any difference as far as TC?
    2) Guessing I just need to set the base resistance with the coil cold? Not sure if this is a lock.
    3) Set it to SS316 mode, set my temp (maybe 450), and also wattage since it seems to allow this

Anything I'm missing to get a gauge on the TC function?

    Thanks

Anyone else get one? How's it working guys? I want one... Need help... I tried the ijoy capo and it's terrible. No power and leaks. Returning it as it's defective POS.
Not sure how many other folks got one, I'm pleased with mine. I haven't put mine down since I got it. Only time I haven't used it is at night when sleeping. Use an RDTA when I'm in bed so I don't wake up and vape my cotton dry. I tend to vape in my sleep and put the squonks up at bedtime since I don't pay attention when vaping during the night.

Anyways, otber things I noticed. Battery cutoff seems to be 3.4V in my experience. Wish it went down to 3.2v before cutting off, but with a 2x700 it gets crazy battery life compared to my single 18650s.

I tried built in charging. Mine only seems to charge to 4.1v. To get a full 4.2 I need to charge externally. I usually do anyways, so no biggie. Seems to take a good amount of charging to get from 4.1 to 4.2v with a 2x700 cell though. I can charge externally, vape for quite a while before built in charging will even do anything. So mine only seems to charge up to 4.1v or not do anything with charging until below 4.1.

No leaking or anything with mine yet. As mentioned the screen is a fingerprint magnet, so you need to get over that. I like the finish on it, not sure how it will hold up over time. Battery/squonk door is held very securely with strong magnets. I still haven't tried TC, but chip performs well in power mode for me.

I will probably put mine down for a bit when the Pulse arrives on Thursday, but I expect this will be in regular daily rotation with the Pulse once the newness of the Pulse wears off some.

I'm pleased with mine. I think Desire did a good job on this one. We'll see how it stands up long term.

This one kind of came out of the blue. Desire is also the manufacturer of the Rage dual squonk. I'm not currently into duel squonks due to the size.

I don't watch Jai's review that often unless I need to be entertained, or he has a video for a product that other don't. Just found he posted one for this two days ago. Take it for what it is. :)

Vaping right handed for me is awkward anyways, I use the Cut (and others) left handed, so I'm not seeing any of the ergonomic issues he speaks of. I don't see it any less usable right handed though if you held it with the fire button to the left and thumb fired it. My middle finger sits right on the squonk bottle when holding it right handed in this manner.

    YMMV....

Thanks score69, you've been very helpful. I'm mostly glad to hear about the 'No Leaking" with it. It was very messy with the Capo. They will credit me on that one when they get it back.

Oh, and I also vape while in bed... I wake often and it's always still in my hand... most of the time. Sometimes not??? My wife found it a couple times.

This is all I get 99% of the time. The home page showed up a couple of times and when I tried going the the Squonk section it goes back to this... I tried all other browsers and mobile devices and I get the same Error 404. Others are having the same issue too. It's not on my end

That's really weird. Looks like an issue on VaporDNA's end, not a specific ISP since it's throwing 404's for you. Since you've tried different browsers, unlikely the URL is getting tweaked on your end. Unless your ISP is having issues with HTTP parsing or the like.

You said you've tried different browsers. If you're on WiFi with mobile devices, can you try going cellular to make sure you're off your ISP?

You can give me your CC info and address and I'll order it for you? :D

    Good luck my friend.

I have this mod and I absolutely love it. You know I went away from TC quite some time ago cuz I could never seem to get a handle on it and it would always go into temp control protection thingy and not fire no matter wth I did. Funny enough I just got some SS wire today and tried again using this mod and WOW it's just awesome. Maybe my previous TC mods were crap, who knows. That or I got lucky and nailed it right this time. Ha Ha, either way I love this mod. TC is working great and in VW mode it is just fine. I love the feel in the hand and with a 21700 battery it lasts half the day. I vape around 60-65 watts. Right now I'm doing 450f so will see how long the battery lasts. I do like that I can dial in wattage even in the temp mode. I don't regret my purchase at all. It also does not have a cheap feel to it. Not overly heavy but solid.

Just as an FYI, MVS added the regular edition black (not Sub Ohm Edition) for $55.99. The only difference is the Sub Ohm Edition replaces the Desire branding on the device.

I got mine at VaporDNA with the 10% discount, but they were still around $63 if I recall.

If anyone is interested, good mod at a good price. I've got a backup already, probably my second favorite squonk (currently) next to the Pulse 80. Especially with me being a leftie, this has a great form factor and hand feel to me. No leaks and great chip performance. As a matter of fact, I think I'm giving the Pulse the day off for it's 2 month anniversary. ;) This will be in hand instead.

Couldn't resist picking up a white one at MVS. So far, I've been really enjoying it. Great hand feel, both when firing and when squonking. Although I'm right-handed, I vape left-handed, and this is very left-hand friendly.

I wish the screen was a bit larger -- or at least the numbers were in a bigger font -- but other than that minor quibble, no complaints so far.

The white is a pearl finish that, to my eye, looks very nice. Zero fingerprints show other than on the screen panel, which is glossy.

Been using it mostly with a Timesvape Reverie which has also been a real treat. Super smooth airflow that is quiet, and provides for an enjoyable restricted lung hit. Plus it's a snap to build.
