I build coils on various devices. I have noticed that when moving a new coil from one similar device to another, before it is wicked, I will get different ohm readings. Not much difference but I am building at the 1.3 to 1.5 range to allow for interchanging between my mechanical and VV/VW mods so a +/-.1 difference can have an impact.

If I take a reading, using and ohm meter, across the positive and negative terminals, before the coil is put on, will that provide some guidance. If so, I could then adjust the "base build" I use.

I guess I can keep a log but I am not that kind of guy. Build and vape.

I started thinking it was all in the slight variances of the build, the connection to the post etc. but when I even use the same coil on similar devices there are changes in the ohms reading.

Or am I just off in all this thinking.

Thanks

We're building and measuring very low ohm readings in an electronics sense, even if building to 3 or 4 ohms. The connection of the ends of the coil to the post, the 510 connection, etc all will add or subtract tenth of an ohm. If you use a multimeter even the "connection" of the end of the lead to whatever you're measuring can add in a extra tenth ohm.

In the electronics field gold plated contacts were developed to minimize this connection resistance, and even then only can minimize it, no eliminate it.....:)
