Ok - been vaping 5-6 months, and im tired of buying pv's

I started with a Revolver, 1st battery on it lasted 2 weeks, second was usless after a month. Didnt care for it that much, so I bought 3 disposable 510's - those worked great. As did the USB passthrough, for about 2 weeks...

Used the disposable 510's on the regular batts for a while, but 1 of them finally died and I was tired of swapping out batteriesso I bought a Laser mod from Iken. Loved it. 3 weeks later the switch starts acting up. 2 weeks after that, the switch completely craps out.

So now im back to the disposable 510, which still works, but now ive got $25 worth of batteries and chargers, $100 worth of scrap PV's and the only thing that works is a 3 month old "disposable" 510.

I need a new one, but holy crap would i like something that actually WORKED and doesnt break. Pisses me off that the $10 disposable has been more reliable than anything else ive tried. I want a good, solid nearly indestructible PV, and i wanted it like yesterday... Not looking forward to using these disposables again.

The bats are all basically disposable as are the atomizers. Never heard of a revolver myself. Sorry about the laser switch. I have been at this since Nov '09 and have had 2 510 mega bats die and 2 reg 510 bats die. That is what they do under normal use, mine is heavy use. I have gotten much further with my Chameleon from ikenvape. Have been using the same bats (4 in rotation) since mid December '09. Maybe you should look into the mods. Good luck and hope you can find peace with a good mod!

I have 2 510s that I started with and a 901 I picked up. The best I have is a box mod I built http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/18409-how-build-nicostick.html and http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/forum/battery-mods/25949-pvma-no-more-worries-batt-connectors.html
I ordered enough boxes to build 8 boxes. They are so reliable that I only built 2. My brother has one of them and I use the other one. I ordered 8 14500 batteries and 2 chargers for 30 bucks. Been about 5 months now and I still use the first 4 batteries that I opened. I haven't had any trouble, but if I did, all the repair parts I need are at Radio Shack. You can build the PVMA with a 901 thread and get adapters for a 510. That will give you the ability to vape 901s, 510s and cartos.

I found my protege finicky and inconsistent to be honest. when it works, it is certainly an upgrade from a standard 510

been vaping 5 months. I've used standard 901s, 401s, 510s, cisco lasermod, Protege, and 5v boxmod from cybervex

the 5v boxmod is my favorite. it's cheap too. I could buy 2 of them for what I used to pay for a carton of reds

yeah, stuff breaks and it sucks. but find a device you like, stock up on spare parts for it and remember it lasted a lot longer for your money than a cigarette would

If it's just your batteries that are having problems a premium device is the way to go. The only one that I own and can speak for is the silver bullet. So far it has been great. The takes 18650 batteries which last me all day, the switch fires every time, and it's very easy to use. Overall a very reliable device.

But ya, once you start using big battery mods/premium devices, you won't want to ever use normal batteries again:)

If you don't want to put out the funds for a mod, why not try a kr808d 2 piece? They are pretty solid with good batteries. Just another idea for you.

I second this!

I have 5 PVs...this one is the perfect one IMO.

The battery is built like a tank...last for HOURS. Not two or three hours...I get like 8 hours out of them (basically a whole work day)

The carts have great flavor...throat hit...and last a good while.
You can refill them easily (drip into the battery end or plunger method)

it's only about 12-16 bucks for a replacement battery if you ever need one.

Best part is...you don't have to worry about the hassle of a 3 piece...let's just be honest, I know people like them...but they don't work right. You have to tinker with them A LOT and even then you can't just sit back and finish a cart without thinking about it.

Sorry man, I totally disagree with your comments in the last paragraph. Initially you do tinker with them alot to get the cart mod that works but once you have it figured out it is go, go & go :) I don't think about it anymore. However to be honest it took about 3 months to get it right.:-x

I started with a Blu-type for 25 days and i wasnt impressed after i started re-filling. the kr808's are easier to deal with IMHO. easier to refill too. i just got a 901 atty and carts today to try something different on my 808 batts. other than a passthru i havent purchased any other equipment ....yet. i know it will come as its at least 50 days since i got the kr808. i keep one on a charger and one in my hand all day long, and i am a HEAVY vaper.

other than the learning curve i have no real complaints.

If you're getting 8 hours out of a KR8 battery you have to be an extremely extremely light vaper.

And while you may prefer the KR8 it is completely off base to say nothing else works right. They may not be what is right for you but obviously they work right otherwise there wouldn't be so many people using them.

I started with a 2pc unit and once I got my first 3pc unit I never thought twice about going back to cartomizers. Not because cartomizers don't work but because 3pc works better for me personally. And no I haven't had to do any "tinkering" with any of them. And I easily sit back and vape away without worrying about the cart... it's called dripping ;)
