When I started vaping I bought juices that were 24mg and 18mg because they were the only strengths available at my local vape shop, I bounced back and forth between the two,,, 24mg was quite stong and I would take a few puffs and put it down, 18mg was better... but I soon found myself vaping more often,,, Even when I smoked I smoked Marlboro Lights, Ultra lights,,, but had a pack of Reds open also and would switch up between the three,,, lights, ultra lights early in the day and later in the evening found myself puffing on a few Red's...Stumbled across another shop nearby where I work that had a greater variety of juices and bought some 12mg juice,,, not quite stong enough,,, vaped it almost constantly,,, at first... but now I am finding that even the 12 mg is a little too stong,,, cant vape it too often,,, a few puffs every 15-30 minutes or so is all it takes

I am dialing down the nic to 8mg,,, So I'll probably be bouncing back and forth while finishing up the 12's and dialing down to 8's,

How do you guys/gals know when its time to decrease the nic ???

Do you just switch to a lower concentration or is there a feeling you get when your body says it does need as much ???

I used to know it was time to drop my nic level when I could go to bed without clutching my PV like an infant with its pacifier.

Got down to 6 at one point (from 32 to start) when my wife asked me if I had changed something. I told her I had recently dropped my nic level and her reply was maybe you should bump it back up some. Apparently I'm easier to live with when I get my nic.

I've settled in at 15 for my DIY and my NT juices I usually order at 12, sometimes 18.

Over a period of a year, I slowly lowered the nic content in my juices. From the initial 24mg, I now use either 3mg, 6mg, or 0mg, depending on the atty and the situation.

You may wish to save some of your remaining 12mg juice. If so desired, you can mixed some of your new 8mg with the older 12mg in even amounts, if the 8mg is not enough nic for you in the beginning.

Yeah,, I recently purchased some DIY supplies,,, Figured I'd cut the cost and cut the nic,,, so I'll probably start mixing at 10 mg and cutting the 12mg with plain PG/VG

You guys are Great,,, Thanks for the input,,, Greatly Appreciated,,, DC

Started at 18mg/ml and now sit at 6mg/ml, to me it's just a matter of getting my vices under control.

I've been wanting to drop into the 3mg/ml zone, but just haven't done so yet.

If you want to reduce your nicotine intake I'd say do so in a gradual manner so you don't bring about cravings that bother you more than you can cope with.

I would also find an atty you feel you can live with for the duration of your nicotine reduction adventure, switching up atties can greatly effect how much juice you consume and certainly how much nicotine gets in your system. This can play havoc on your efforts to find a level of nicotine that's lower and works in both atties. Drippers vs Clearomizer would be the most drastic example, toss what make you comfortable in a Clearomizer in a dripper and you'll either instantly want lower nicotine or want to vape less frequently. With much of our habit being the physical action of vaping/smoking its not likely you will actually reduce the number of times you vape without being very strong willed.

I started at 24 mg and quickly went down to 18. Switched to 12mg after a few weeks and started ti buy a few 6mg juices. When I started mixing my own I did several at 3mg (even a few juices at 0 nic) and found that it just wasn't satisfying my cravings. I'm now mixing at 10mg and that seems to be working well. I'll probably go down to 8 soon and see how that goes. Mixing my own makes it a lot easier to taper off very slowly without the big jumps you get in pre-mixed juices.

I pretty much do whatever my body (or the voices in my head) tell me to do. I was a very heavy chain smoker and started with 24mg. After about 2 months, I started getting anxiety, sleeplessness, woozy, general "running around like a headless chicken". Over the next year I slowly dropped, first to 18mg then 15mg then 12mg...and so on. Strangely, after a couple of years, I found the drop from 7.5 to 6mg hard to do. In this case my body (or the voices) were asking for more...not less. I suspect that some of it is physical, some mental (or in my case very mental), but you will know.

I guess I moderate my nic intake somewhat by the duration of my draw and the amount of time holding the vape before exhaling.

I recently purchased and eVic : Can anyone recommend a dripper / atty that is inexpensive... but not cheap ?

I've looked around and don't know much about them except for the options are endless...

I've been getting 24mg and diluting it in half, actually doubling my juice , adding a shot of flavor to keep the flavor right. My Menthol seems to be too strong for my taste buds and I've been cutting it back, looks like I've cut it back farther than I thought. I'll be cutting back my other favorite juice even further now I see that 12mg is too strong for me. Too bad too 2 of my new juices I can't get extra flavoring for, I was vaping them when I discovered the 12 mg was too high because I ordered them in 12mg thinking that would be fine.
The human body is an amazing vessel.
It certainly will tell you when something is not right. Sometimes it's a process of trial and error.

My personal advice if you're super serious about this is to make your own juice. That will give you the most control. It's been my method to reduce the nic at an incredibly gradual pace. I started at 6mg when I began dripping and have been reducing it by 0.5 mg per week. Currently sitting at 1mg/ml and I plan on going down to 0.75 with the next batch of juices I make. I find the gradual decrease over the course of many many months to be more possible for me to handle. I can go most of the day without vaping now and I don't get cravings, whereas before I could hardly last 2 hours without craving a cig.

Best of luck!

My blood pressure being high, my pulse racing, especially late at night, and being unable to sleep have all been the indicators that it is time to drop my nic levels.

Some of those drops have happened because I have increased my vaping tech and thus.. improved the efficiency of my delivery, and some of it has just been my body adjusting.

Forgot to mention that as well...my preferred build at the moment is a .24 ohm build which just blows up the amount of vapor hitting your lungs. Hence the super low nic concentration.

I find that if I stick with my current dosage (12 mg/L) that I'll hit it more or less according to the levels of stress or whatever activity happens to rule. keeping the dosage constant and vaping more or less frequently works for me. I've tried to use lower dosages, only to wear out more battery life. I think that if I lower the dosage over time, that I'll adjust to the lower concentrations and it will be easier to cope. Just my thoughts. I make my own DIY juice and rebuild my own coils/wicks. I don't have the fancier attys or stuff.. I'm pretty meager to use what is cost effective and still satisfying. My :2c: worth.
