I agree it's not too bad and don't leak. I read somwhere people modifying the holes. I am about 190+ degrees off from being tight. And there is not many threads there to begin with. Though it doesn't leak I would feel better if it was tight. Below is a link to what I am using. Genisis style DID clone

You could always mark it and drill a new hole in the proper location, then fill the old hole with a good epoxy, JB Weld, or even cover it with metal tape.

However, I saw a tip on a you-tube awhile back that might provide a better solution.

This person put an o-ring at the base of the threads, and then tightened it till the holes lined up.

All the insatiability and looseness was gone.

Seemed like a good fix.

Holes lined up, and nice and tight with a compression ring acting as a lock washer...

I've seen people sanding down the entire bottom of the cap just a tiny bit to make the air hole line up.
Yep... my thoughts exactly. What you're doing spegtoast is called "clocking" or "indexing". Depending on how much you need to remove, you may want to start with some fairly course wet/dry sandpaper, work the cap in a circular motion and turn it frequently so you remove an equal amount of metal from the circumference. Move to a finer paper as you get close to an alignment.
