Yea, I planned on doing just that. The nic is labeled 60 mg. But I really think either I'm a doofus (actually pretty sure about that) or the nic was mis labeled. I have a background in chemistry and I'm used to mixing reagents, so I really don't think I did it incorrectly...but I've been wrong before (been married thrice.)

I'm not 100% positive but I *think* I've heard of mislabeled RTS nic in another thread but I really couldn't tell you where and you can't search for a three-letter word here. I'll be the first to apologize if I'm wrong :)

(I've also been married three times but widowed once so I only picked a bad one once)

:D

edit: I've searched every way I can think of and can't find a thread - and I don't wanna disparage RTS over what may be my faulty memory. I'd cut the juice and see what happens.

Yea, I'll do just that. Regarding being married and the mistakes therein...I had an old senior lady tell me once, "You know, love is like a butterfly flitting around the field...sometimes you have to land on a few turds before you find a flower." :p

Sorry to hear about your FIL.

I must say, the HUMCO VG from Walmart made me feel flushed and queezy. It took me a while to figure out it was the HUMCO doing it to me. I, like you, second guessed my nic calculations and everything never thinking it could be the brand of VG I was using.

Otherwise, I would dilute a sample of the DIY mixture and see what happens.

That's why testing just the PG, then adding some of the VG, is good to do. I've used CVS and Rite Aid Glycerin USP Skin Protectant for over a year, including high VG mixes, without issue -- they are supposed to be Humco relabels. If the test of just PG, then VG, is good, I wouldn't mess with the DIY mix, just ask the vendor to resend, be done with it; if that is the bad component, it isn't worth messing with the stuff. (I've only had one bad thing in DIY so far, a large bottle of tobacco flavoring that was just plain off -- zero issues when I let the vendor know this, replacement came fast.)

I'll play around with it when I get back home after the funeral. We thought we would be back by now, but things got delayed...

OK, well...it appears I did something wrong with my first batch. It's highly likely that (being of ultra short attention span) I got distracted by the flashing lights on my Mifi and didn't count correctly or something. :p

I whipped up a 15 ml batch of unflavored with a hint of cherry (2%) and I'm lovin' it!! At 2%, the LorAnns cherry adds just the right touch of cherry flavor for me.

I did mix this batch at 18mg however, as I am noticing that the higher nic content juices don't really do anything additional for me. If you don't need it, why go through that expensive nic though, right?!? I also noticed the old batch that was making me feel ill was very thick. I'm not sure what I did wrong, but whatever it was...it was my fault. Not RTS Vapes' at all.

I have to mix in my basement, so I'm not distracted by chipmunks or passing butterflies :)

Lower nic is always good, if it works for you. The body is pretty self-regulating -- if you aren't getting enough you will tend to vape constantly, time to bump the nic back up a notch. I'm just now working at reduction, drop by 2 mg for several weeks, then try dropping 2 more. The nice thing about DIY is it does give you that level of control. I make 60 ml at a time, using 60 mg/ml nic base, so it turns out that I just use XX ml of nic base in order to get XX mg/ml final liquid.

Since all of the other crud in cigs was really bad, I'm not too tense about going fast on the nic reduction. 2 mg every 20 or 30 days is fine for me (I stayed with 24 mg for months, then 20 for a while, now 18, probably 16 in another 10 days). Since I still, honestly, like the mild boost from nicotine, and have cut my coffee consumption since picking up vaping (trading stimulants), slow is good for me.

I guess I'm just weird...no...I KNOW I'm weird, but anyway...I have vaped 36 mg nic and 8mg nic, and I vape the same with either...A LOT! I think I'm more affected by the tactile functions of vaping, TH, taste, and vapor than the nic level. The only reason I haven't tried zero nic is I'm afraid I'll miss the TH, which is king for me! But, with the EMDCC, I have noticed incredible TH anway, so zero nic may well be an option.

I went from 24mg to 18 and juice consumption went up for about four days - when I went from 18mg to 9mg it stayed high for about two weeks but is now back around 3ml a day. I'm almost ready to cut to 4mg and when my juice use normalizes after that I'll cut to zero.

Great news Wizard!! Let me know how it works for ya'!
