Did I just trade addictions?

Hey there! I'm new to the Vape world (about 2 weeks old). So my question is... What did I just do!?!?! The moment I took my first puff, I was hooked. I'd been a smoker for 9+ years (I'm only 25 years old...) and nothing was going to stop me from puffing on analogs. A friend of mine had been posting photos of his VP and encouraged me to try vaping. So I hopped on the old macbook to do a little research and little did I know there was just a HUGE community of supportive and knowledgable people out there who were just like me at one point; people with no hope of kicking the stinky habit until they found the way of the vape. But here I am, sitting on ECF, posting my first thread on a forum I've spent hours reading lately... vaping some five pawn Gambit and sharing my story.

Guys and gals, I think that vaping has somehow saved me from a miserable life of bad breath, bum lungs, and a very sad heart. Not to mention I bought my girlfriend a matching starter kit (Aspire K1) and she's loving it! She hasn't had a smoke in a few days, and I can happily say I haven't had a cig in 2 weeks! Booyah!

Anyway, I just wanted to post and say thank you all for posting such inspiring, intelligent and thought-provoking words on the daily. I'm glad to have a new group of friends who I can share my new passion with!

I've repeated this statement in other post's...but hay...it's true.
At this point there are no shortages of ways to kick the analogs. From low cost, low power to high ended Cho-cho trains. Watch plenty of youtubes and leave your charge card out on the desk. This functional hobby comes with 2 afflictions. GAS (Gear Acquisition Syndrome) and ATCS (Add To Cart Syndrome)..so...go ahead and put your girlfriends shoe collection to shame.:vapor:

Yes, you just traded addictions, but it is like trading an eating addiction with an exercise addiction.

Welcome to the forum, there is lot's of knowledge around here.

Yep, I'd say it's like trading an addiction to hard drugs for an addiction to bubble gum.

But in point of fact, after a few years of vaping, you may find it a very simple matter to simply discontinue vaping, perhaps from sheer lack of interest. When you first quit smoking, then vaping is a direct replacement, but after the cigs have been gone long enough, then vaping, for many people, is not nearly as hard to get rid of as the cigarettes were.

And hey, welcome to the addiction that most likely, WON'T kill you. :D
