Hello guys, I was thinking about ordering this:

Boge 801 (JK314) Cartomizer 3.0 Ohm (Black) - 5 Pack x 2
DSE 901 USB Charger x1
901 to 801 adapter x1

Did I miss something?
How long do you think these liquids would last a beginner?

Looks good. I vape about 5ml a day, but most say about 3ml a day. In the beginning... Sorry, just wanted to write that.

Anyway, I believe it's common to vape alot when you first start. Everyone's different. Hopefully you got different flavors to try in those 5 bottles. You'll be surprised by some things you thought you'd never like and end up loving, and other things that sounded perfect and don't bump the happy-meter.

Regardless, looks like you'll be fine for a few days at least... (until the real sickness sets in: the "i-just-gotta-try-this-too" syndrome)

I'm going to say more. Truth is, I thought you'd have a lot of more experienced people chiming in. Trying to "do no harm" here, but if it were me...

I'd go with a bigger batter. I have and use my 901 batteries. Mostly my non-nic vaping husband uses them. The eGo (Riva costs less and is same thing) battery or PT is long lasting. I don't know how heavily you smoke. Are you currently smoking? The 801 produces a pretty cool, slow vape. The 901 produces a warmer, faster vape. (This is really difficult. I wish we were vaping/playing across from each other.) With a bigger battery, you can try different combinations easier. Having batteries charging all the time made me want to smoke, but I was a very heavy smoker.

Really, hope I'm not doing any harm.

I would have upped the battery size. Personally, I need something that can provide me with a few hours of use.

An eGo 650mah, 900mah, or 1000mah
or a Rive 510 would have been my choices.

Your choices will work for you, but be prepared to keep a charger handy AND to have a backup charger.
Remember: your batteries are no good to you if you can not charge them

Aral, what I do not understand about your order is your choice of batteries... If you like cartomizers, why order a battery that does not really work well with cartomizers? No matter what cartos you choose, you will need an adapter. That's a pain, in my opinion. If you like slim batteries, order either a kr808 (goes with kr808 cartos) or a 510 (works with a wide variety of 510 cartomizers.) I wouldn't start with a mismatched 'starter' kit.

If I'm wrong, pls someody correct me. I'm not an expert on 901 batteries....

Or, if you really want a 901 battery and an adapter combo, get a 901>510 adapter. This way you'll have a better selection of cartomizers.

I will add to Katya's comments - the Boge 510 cartos are great... and I guess tho', the limitation would be with the 510 on a slim battery, to use the 3ohm. I personally love the 2ohm on my 3.2-3.7 fat batts.

But, definitely more juices! I would stick to the 5ml for sampling, as I have several now that are just... meh. I believe I'd seen Abe post that he's adding some (was it just 30ml flavors, or???) and to give him a couple hours - but I didn't pay attention to the timestamp on that one. If you see some n/a - come back in an hour or more and keep checking, before checking out

They have black manual 510 batteries. If you can't wait for a kit (their kr808 and 510 kits are the best value), get a couple of black 510 manual batts and some 3.0Ω 510 Boge cartos. And a regular 510 charger (just don't get an eGo fast charger). And the juices of your choice. If you like the combo, you can always add a Riva battery to the mix and experiment with that.

That's my advice.

I agree with Princessa. I started with 901 everything. Having "510-ability" is very convenient.

I'd like an automatic battery for the handsfree operation really. I understand that manuals are more reliable, but from what I've read here, most people have no objection to automatics either.
I'm putting together a 901 battery to 501 carts set. Is there any reason that wouldn't work well?

Aral, it's ultimately your call. I can only tell you what worked for me...

I started with kr808 mini autos because I wanted a ciglike experience. Within weeks I moved on to kr808 manuals, and then to 510 fat batteries and never looked back. I love my Rivas and my eGos. But that's just me and my preference.

I am not familiar with the 901 batts at all, but I generally dislike adapters. They are a hassle. And they get lost.

That said, if you're going to get a 901 batterey, go with a 901>510 adapter and 3.0Ω 510 Boge cartos.

Or wait for Abe and Ty and some more people with 901 experience to chime in.

It just occurred to me that Ty, AKA ImYourSalt, is an avid auto battery user and he of course knows the LF offerings best. Wait for him to respond, or send him an email or a PM describing your dilemma. He'll give you the best advice.

Some real good advice here as usual, but I have a hunch that Aral seems to want to chart their own course, by sticking with auto 901 batts. I can understand, and we each have to learn what we like and what eventually works best for each of us.

That being said, I cannot resist saying that I was strictly an auto 901 battery user, with the 901 atty, for about a year and a half, refusing to try anything else, as I was really happy with the performance, the feel, the portability, and the vapor of the DSE901 system. So I bought ALOT of batteries and ALOT of atomizers. I always had at least two batteries charging, and when I hit the road, made sure that I had about 5 or so batteries along for the ride...

Then they changed the construction of the 901 atty to V2, with a metal disk enclosure that, to me, created a leaking, badly performing bugger of an atomizer. I just did not like it anymore and searched and searched for the old style in vain, that's how much I liked the 901.

Long story longer, I tried a great mod, with cool customization, and liked it alot, but strictly for home use as it was a pain to carry around (I like having my vape in my shirt pocket to whip out at will).

That's when I found the Riva 501, and I have not looked back. Damn, it really makes a difference going almost all day on one battery, with great vapor, taste, reliability, etc. It really fits the hand nicely and just isn't that much of a difference from the 901, compared to all the crazy, bulky mods out there. It's a classy vape. Granted, I have still stuck with 501 atty's and they can be hit or miss, so I do not blame anyone for going the carto route. I just like what I like, and have found my working system, so I stick with it for now (other than trying more reliable 501 atty's and perhaps those even longer lasting batteries). At least until I know better...

So, I guess I am saying, Aral, go your own route and see where it leads you, and the very best of luck. But if I was to suggest something else for you (even though you didn't ask, really), since you are going the carto route, I don't think you could do much better than "Riva 510 carto Deluxe" kit featured at LF for like $34. Throw in some juices and you are good to go. And good to go for a much longer time than with the standard 901 batteries.

Again, just my personal opinion. As long as you are on the vaping trail, more power to you!

I really want a slim battery for start. If I feel the need for more mAh (and I probably will) I'll just make myself a kind of a small PCC with 2-3 cellphone batteries, with usb ports on it so I can use it as a passthrough too. That should suffice for even the heaviest usage.
What I'm looking for now, is a good slim battery. Something like a 901/808/801, I don't know which one of these is the best, and why.
It seems to me that the only possible difference can be in the automatic switch, the mAh, and the quality of construction.
I'd like someone with a lot of experience with these batteries to give me some handy info

Sorry for my tardiness...

For an auto battery... I suggest the 280mah kr808d-1 batteries. I do not sell these at this time, but have plans to in the near future. I understand that there is a definite need for a good mini auto battery. In the meantime, I can suggest a couple vendors if you would like to send me a PM.

The reason I recommend the 808d-1, is the pressure switch, and battery life. As well as the availability of cartomizers. A pressure switch is better than a microphone switch, for obvious reasons. These batteries are also available in 3 sizes, both manual and auto. So it gives you some room to play.

You can get a 901-510 adapter, and some 510 3'ohm cartos. I will be stocking 3.0 ohm 808d-1 cartos in a couple weeks.
Beyond that, I highly recommend the ego or riva 510, and Boge 2, 2.5, or 3ohm cartos.
