I blow mine out with a modified bulb syringe (rubber bulb) then place them at the warm air exit from my Notebook cooling fan for several hours. The air is really warm and moves continuously when Notebook is on. Then throw them into a small sealed container of rice. Actually I store all the newly cleaned ones in rice until I'm ready to use them. I do this, also, with any attys. I don't ever have any problems. I've found it helps to have several to a bunch of spares so you can be sure they are clean and dry.

I've also used the clothes dryer using a heavy cotton sport sock. Before throwing the sock into the dryer (with clothes, of course) I give it some good spins in the air to get as much moisture out of atty/cartos as possible. I tie one knot in sock and then turn the rest inside out to give the attys/cartos some extra padding.

As you mentioned boiling. Has anyone boiled the plastic eGo big cartos? I was afraid they might deform from the heat.

I use four of them for when I'm out and about and haven't cleaned them. I know a couple have been refilled 4-5 times and they keep going. I did trash one with some 100% VG cappuccino that was too thick. I decided to toss it versus going through the hassle of trying to clean it. If they keep holding out like they have, I'll never try cleaning them.

I don't think I'll clean mine anymore, either. I cleaned 11 cartos the other day using water that I had brought to a boil, let them soak for 10 minutes in a container, and then pushed water through them using a 10mL syringe bought at Walmart. The next day, after I dried them overnight by a fan, two of them wouldn't vape. One seems to be completely dead and the other will vape just a little, but I know something is wrong with it.

I just cleaned them again, pushing hot tap water through each end using the rubber cone thing that comes with the Walmart 10mL syringe. After they dry, I'll see if they work, but I don't expect them to. I know they're not burnt inside, but something is messed up with the built-in atomizers, I'm sure.

I can't believe I spent the time to mess with them today, knowing they only cost $1.59 each and I've refilled them at least 8 to 10 times in the last two weeks.

This is still an obsession for me, I guess.

I boil water in the microwave then put them in the water stirring gently for about 5 minutes and then let them sit for a little while. After sitting I flush them with clean water then I use a lens cleaning bulb Amazon.com: Zeikos ZE-BLR Dust Blower (Black): Camera & Photo with the tip removed to blow them out reasonably well letting them sit overnight to completely dry. It's worked pretty well. Boiling water has a chance to leave deposits on them as the gas goes though them, scalding hot water will just clean em.

On mine the end cap at the mouth piece comes off and there is a little carto or like a cup inside full of wicking. I pull the cup out and remove the wick (stuffing - it is like batting) and rinse that in distilled water. Once it dries I stuff it back in and drip more e-liquid on it. They are the greennics that are popular here in Tucson. To be honest after learning what I have on the net I am embarsed to say I paid 42 with tax for 10 of them. I have since bought an eGo from VaporKings along with a couple bottles of e-liquid and am very happy. BTW Vaporkings really impressed me with the speed of their order filling and shipping. I placed an order at 10am mountain time and received a shipped noticed at noon.

nofalls - It sounds like you're referring to the three-piece e-cig with an atomizer and cartridge (that includes the little cart or cup inside full of polyfil that you can remove and clean or replace.) This thread is about a cartomizer, which is a one-piece cartridge containing a built-in atomizer. The filter inside can't or shouldn't be removed because there are wires that run up in the middle of the rolled-up filter or polyfil. Pulling out the filter will break the wire(s) most of the time.

On another note, I'm NO longer going to use boiling water to clean my cartomizers. I'll just soak them in hot tap water and then use the Walmart 10mL syringe and rubber cone thing to push water through both ends a few times. Two of the 11 cartos I cleaned in almost boiling water the other night died when I tried to use them again. I think cleaning them degrades them quicker, so I may not even rinse them out again, unless I need to remove some bad-tasting liquid.

I took one of those that died apart earlier tonight, and there was no way to pull out the filter without breaking the wires inside. Then I removed the threaded end using pliers, removed the black paper covering the carto, cleaned the metal tube with lighter fluid (took awhile and lots of lighter fluid...it was very sticky), and then I blew through what's left of the end that had threads. I realized I now have a whistle that will play only one note. If anyone has any other ideas for what I can do with this metal tube, please let me know. :)
