So a quick question..

I've had the DID for a couple of weeks and am really digging it... However, I have always had something for the Ody or Penelope.

Therefore my question... I am aware that they are two different types of devices, but what I'm interested in, is the vaping experience.

Is the vaping experience very different between the two? The setup of the Ody/Penelope seems reasonably simple, what is the vape like from these?

Well , I have a line V2 ( just like the DID , I also have a Penelope ) .The Line uses a stainless mesh wick , and kanthal coil , while the Penelope and Ody's use a silica wick and a resistance wire , like Kanthal or Nichrome They also use a non-resistance wire , such as ( silver jewelry type wire ) The vape on Genesis type atty's tome , tastes a little cleaner / sharper maybe , where on the Penelope , it's a bit more mellow / smooth . Both very enjoyable . Actually if I had to choose only one . I guess I would have to go with the Penelope . And I can use it like a dripping atty ( which I like ) and not with the line . Hope that helps .

Sometimes , not now the premade wicks are available , which precludes making them , but if you can get some kanthal or Ni chrome 32 gauge for the resistance wire , and some silver ( Jewelry ) wire for the non -resistance wire , they're not that hard to make . You can even use silver crimps and pliers to make the connections between the two types of wires . Makes it very easy to make the wicks . As with your DID , just use a mulit-meter to tell what ohms you are about to make .

I can also offer that the penelope is brilliant when mated with a provari. I have gone from running a double-wicked, dual-coil setup (1.0 ohms) @ 3.3 volts all the way to a single-coil, triple-wicked (3.5 ohm) rig @ 5.9 volts. What I can say is that the Penelope IS simple to setup, a breeze to clean, and fun to experiment with coil techniques. You can setup ANY type of draw you like, loose as a goose all the way to...well, closed. I find that the flavor is superb. Better than a .357, better than a Cisco 306, and better than an AVA. I'm a spontaneous dripper, but I don't do it so much now that I have the penelope dancing to my music :headbang: I believe they say the tank holds 1.3 ml, but I find that I can put 1.5 ml in it perfectly. I have never tried dripping with it, I just don't need to because the flavor is spot on every drag. Lets see, ZERO leaking, no spitting (except once when I opened the juice control too much and flooded the coil), but to fix that all I did was close the juice control and take a few quick, stern puffs. The flavor and texture (yes, texture!) that I was getting running the dual-coil 1.0 ohm @ 3.3-3.4 volts was unlike any vape I have ever had. It was almost...well, juicy? thick? dense? one of those or all three, it's hard to put into words, but definitely very different in a good way. I mouth inhale, and throat hit is not something I am very concerned about. I have tried some direct-lung inhales and whoa...hello TH! Strangely, the only time I was NOT impressed was using the pre-joined wire for my coil. I don't know why, but it was not memorable, but not bad either. I usually run 100% VG juice, but have run 70/30 and 50/50 for my girlfriend. I am very impressed with the quality of the components, the design and it's function, and the overall finish is quite pleasing. I have not tried the genesis-style atomizers, but for now, my ProVari v2 + GG Penelope = Hope some of that is helpful to you! -Ern

How can it be used like a dripping atty? I have a Penelope but did not know it could be used to drip.

Yup, you just prime your coil, don't fill her up, and drip. As for adjusting the draw, you screw in the 510 connector base to the prover, screw in your threaded-coil-atty piece until you make the connection, then unscrew the 510 base ever so slightly (depending on how loose you want the draw), then tighten back the threaded-coil-atty piece to make your positive connection, tighten the knurled ring, screw on the mouthpiece, then just take a few dry pulls to see what the draw is like. Repeat until you find your sweet spot.
