did you have to force yourself to get used to vaping?

I've been lurking here for a week reading researching and deciding. Well I got my 510 in the mail today, and now I'm not so sure. I was just wondering if you really had to try to like vaping or if it just kind of worked?

I got 4 juices (rath vg) and 2 atomizers a manual and an auto battery. My main complaint at this point is the taste. It's not really what I've seen other people talk about in burnt, plastic, or chemical - more just the general taste to the liquids. It gets stuck in my nose, and well even after a garlic filled dinner I can't get rid of it (not to mention out of all the liquids not one of them was even close to appealing).

I figured I'd ask you experts since I know you guys have seen more in this world than I have. I'm not really interested in having to get used to the flavors/tastes if I have to just stick it out for the next week or two here. Part of me just thinks, this isn't something for me. I'm not asking you guys to make up my mind for me but rather if you have seen people that tried it and it just didn't work out.

Most people (who post on ECF at least) do take to vaping pretty enthusiastically, but not all. [My next door neighbor, only a casual smoker, wasn't crazy about it.] And some supplement vaping with some other smoking substitution method, e.g., see the Other Alternatives to Smoking forum.

Vaping is quite different from smoking. Some people (such as yours truly) strongly prefer vaping ... others not as much, but stick with it because they believe it is less risky than smoking.

Your complaint, however, is not about the process of vaping (size and shape of the device, pushing a button, draw technique, charging batteries, filling cartridges, etc.), the nicotine hit, or the vapor ... but about the taste of the four juices you've tried. I don't think your device is getting in the way of the juice. The 510 atomizer is pretty friendly to the e-liquid put into it.

There are hundreds of different flavors and dozens (scores?) of companies/individuals who mix the e-liquids. You've tried only four from one supplier.

I wish I knew what those flavors are; I might be able to make more specific suggestions. I do notice the VG base. Some vapers need to use that because of PG alergy; others prefer its taste or vapor production. But maybe VG is not for you. PG still is the more common base, so that's something you could try.

Offhand, I'd suggest you try some different flavors, PG-based, and from another source. That is not a knock against Rath juice; it is very well thought of, but it may not be right for you. But even within the Rath juices (which I've not yet tried), I'm sure that Banana, for example, tastes quite different from "Ebacco."

If all four of those juices are non-tobacco flavors, definitely try some of the tobacco flavors. They would be most similar to what you are used to. Might as well start with the ubiquitous "Marlboro" (often deliberately misspelled or euphemized as "Cowboy" or "Western," etc.). And see if you like Flue Cured or Hilton or 555 or TAB or RY4. Check out the second half of Part 5 of my WWV Illustrated Guide for leads on inexpensive sampler-sized bottles. Here is just one example.

Hang in with it for a few days at least (or put it to the side until you can try other flavors). Fingers crossed!
