It's crazy! I never noticed the smell when I was a smoker. Now... OMG THEY STINK!!! I see what my gf has been complaining about.
Cigarettes were something that I never should have started almost a decade ago. Ever since I started vaping, I have been down to 1 or 2 every week.
I light a cigarette up, ask myself "why am I doing this?" and just throw it out.

I smoked from age 13-52 and began smoking 2pks daily in my 20's. While visiting my son, he took me to his local vape shop where they mixed up my ejuice until I loved the taste. Four months later and I haven't smoked at all. I'm still trying to find the perfect tank as I burn coils out fast! Can't wait for my Alien Vision ejuices to get here. I have no desire to smoke Reds now.
This wasn't a determined effort for me. I had one of those 'right I'm going to do this' moments and ordered and ego starter kit online which arrived on 17 Aug 13. By the time it got here the moment had kind of passed but my hubby was giving me the ' now what are you spending money on' face so I had a go. I had a week of playing around but have been smoke free for 6 wks today. Compared to past attempts it has been a walk in the park and I can't see me ever going back. I was walking round the supermarket last weekend and was shocked by how noticeable the smell of smoke was on some people - that used to be me - how my family put up with it I'll never know.
I do admit to still carry around my last few cigs with me just in case but honestly, I haven't had a just in case moment yet maybe soon I'll be brave enough to leave them at home .

After 30 years on analogs @ 2PAD. It's now been 67 1/2 days without analogs!
I'm never going back! Loving this hobby! I just love and must thank the ECF, they have such wonderful people willing to answer any question!
There are so many new things to try with vaping!
I'm now working on having a truck load of backup items so I can never go back!
The only limits I have are time, tanks, flavors, and all my analog allowance that I'm now spending on vaping!

Isn't quitting the whole point? I just find it a HUGE relief that I don't stink as much as I used to. Plus, you really can't beat the flavors you get with juice Been smoke free a few months now - don't have a precise date, cause I only remember finding a pack of smokes in the glove compartment of my car one day and realizing I hadn't smoke in a couple of days. I didn't feel like lighting one up either, so that half-smoke pack was still there in the car for a while before a friend grabbed it.

I keep going back to the analog here and there. ordered a higher strength nic to see if it would help.
I like reading the success stories here; just keep at it, you're not the only one that has picked up an analog from time to time, and it's better than going through nothing BUT analogs all day, every day.
It seems that for some it happens instantly, others take a while to finally fully kick the habit. Everyone is different, just know that as long as you WANT to quit analogs, you WILL quit analogs.
I quit a 20+ year 2.5 pad habit. It took me over a month to fully convert.
The first juice i bought was way too low of nic.. and the egos just were not cutting it.. I decided to visit a different shop and they steered me towards a better device and higher nic liquid..
Used both for a while until one day i realized that i was going to bed.. and i had not had an analog that day. that was a happy day...
For the first time in my adult life.. i don't feel like my life is controlled by tobacco.

That is when I opened my mail box which had two ego twists, a viva nova, and a bottle of "thrill vanilla". I have not had an analog since. Two weeks later I gave a coworker the pack of smokes from 9-9 that had 18 left in them.
I have a log of exactly what I have spent on vaping and know my quit date. It will be fun to see what is cheaper after the initial equipment purchases start to level out.

Quit more times than I can count....but up here near Chicago, analogs are pushing $12.50 a pack and worse if you're down near Navy Pier of the Mag Mile. So between the cost, and being older, working in health care and watching the ravages of analog abuse-- it was pretty simple this time around. I commend everyone who's attempting to quit; it's no small task.
I haven't had a cigarette in about 8 months now. Only took about two weeks to completely make the switch to vaping. I found it easy to make the switch, but my friend from work who started around the same time as me hasn't stopped smoking yet. At least he has managed to go from 3 packs a day down to a half a pack through vaping, though. Everyone's experience is a little different.
Tomorrow marks four weeks of no analogs! :beer:
