didn't know where to put this. I keep seeing "4000 chemicals in tobacco cigarettes Plus..." Not according to the Surgeon General

According to Dr. Siegel there are maybe 10,000-100,000 chemicals in cigarettes. Imagine they had to include a list of ingredients with every pack of cigs. "Honey! I'm out to buy some ciggies! I'll take the truck!"

lol. they will probably have some rfid chip in the pack and you have to scan it at the point of sale and scroll through a "terms and conditions" on some little terminal that you agree and sign for to get the cigarettes

Is there a purpose or reasoning to justify adding all of those chemicals to tobacco?

i seem to remember reading that alot of stuff they add keeps the cig lit longer, a true tobacco cigarette would be like trying to keep a pipe lit.

i think there's stuff in there to make it taste better, probably a bleep load of preservatives.

i guess it's the same kinda thing like the laundry list of unpronouncable ingredients on a can of something simple like peaches.

Same old trail, follow the money. Big tobacco is sure to high up on that list, think about a drug dealer,,,wouldn't want competition, would want to keep his customers hooked, would want to keep the cash rolling in. What better way to do all this than to get the government involved and have the competition banned. Chaps my ...!

I was looking at one of those lists the other day. Actually I was reading documents from some tobacco companies that mentioned the "Hunter List", but couldn't find out more about that. Anyhow, a large amount of the chemicals on these scare lists are also widely used flavorings that are also used in e-juice. Obviously the burning tobacco has worse things involved, but it isn't like people aren't still inhaling a decent amount of stuff on that list.

At least with Ecigs we don't have to worry so much about things like the chemicals in fertilizer and the chemicals used to keep the tobacco burning evenly or not burning when you don't puff. The rest of the chemicals are most likely native to the tobacco itself.

I wonder sometimes about certain juices that create vapor that doesn't disappear into the air when you exhale. My juice from one supplier just hangs like a cigarette exhale. A little vapor remains for 10 or 15 seconds or so and it curls around and makes those little patterns you see from tobacco smoke. I've vaped all PG, all VG, and various mixes and all of those disappear into the surrounding air within a few seconds. Strange. And, it's the best juice I've found. Go figure.

The label says: PG, VG, and Flavorings.

I smoked for 35 years. Most of the time, it was the same brand cigarette. And over all those years, my brand changed time & time again. To me, a cigarette used to taste good; by the time I quit, they were nasty---wat too much over-processing.
The government needs cigarettes. They will tell you not to smoke, but they will never really push that thought. Likewise, tobacco loves when governments raise taxes, because they work on a profit margin, and so they wind up with more cash (ex: gov't raises taxes by $.75, cigarettes go up by$1.00, therefore cig co pockets an extra $.25

But it is big pharma that controls the FDA. Pharma wants people smoking, because they can make money over & over when folks try to quit---though unsucessful, they will try again with a new patch or box of gum.
