I've been using the vision vivi novas with vision spinners for a couple years and found it to be the best thing for me. However, I'm being forced to move on since parts are no longer made for them and top coils are phased out altogether as far as I can tell.

I've tried several bottom coil tanks: hypertank, protank, the vivi nova bottom coil (kumiho?), to name a few. They were all sh!tty to me. Gurgling, leaking, weakest hits ever, highly frustrating vaping experiences. I use 100 VG and it's worked just fine in the vivi nova top coils.

What is the new cool thing that will work for me? I need a tank, minimum 3ml, something that can handle a rugged work environment -- compact and can sustain being dropped on occasion. A tank that doesn't leak, that doesn't give me dry hits or flooding, and can be re-wicked/coiled.

Is it only a fantasy?

With a little hunting, one can stock up on Vision Novas and STV's as well as the heads. I think I have about a ten year supply thanks to clearances. They are still my favorite as well, and when heads eventually go bad I just clean and bag them up for eventual rebuilding!

Good luck finding a new choice. I have tried the Nautilus and it was pretty good for a bottom coil, but not quite the same warm flavorful vape.

If you're a coil builder, you could go for the kayfun/orchid/fogger tanks. All those meet your criteria. Leaking has been reported, but is usually caused by user error. Tutorials are out there. Honestly, I've never watched a tutorial. I've never had a leak from my Kayfun, tho. Wierd, but a little common sense and understanding of operation can keep ya vapin good.

If you're able to coil, and the Vivi heads can be rebuilt, why not keep it going with rebuilt heads?

It doesn't sound like OP is in to rebuildables. To the OP: I do highly recommend rebuilding, but it requires some effort and knowledge about how to do it. From what I understand, the Vivi Nova heads aren't tough to rebuild. If your looking for something readily available, Aspire makes some nice tanks. The nautilus and mini nautilus are pretty darn good and handle high VG fairly well. I've run them at 12 watts just fine. On that note, the Beyond Vape Silo and Silo mini (lite?) are essentially the same thing, just with a better look IMO and a better protected tank. Depends on what setup your running, but I'd go for a Silo lite or any of the newer kanger models, the aerotank mini is pretty good too.

Gonna look into the ones mentioned here. Thanks.

I have been rebuilding the heads all this time but they can only be rebuilt so many times. Plus most of my local vape friends all use vivis since I am the one that got them vaping. They have also tried bottom coils and found themselves hating them. THEY don't rebuild. I've taught them but they'd all rather pay for new heads than have to get their hands dirty.

I'd say I break about one tank per month on average. Reinforced pyrex tanks seem to be able to take about ~7 drops to a hard surface before a fatal crack forms. I'm pretty careful but ..... happens.

I never had any luck with any I clear. They used to be all the rage, but it's all about the Nautilus with the newer bvc coils and kanger aerotanks
The OP said he didn't like bottom coil clearos and I was suggesting another top coil clearo. I liked the top coil iclears when I used them back in the day, the bottom coil iclears were terrible!!

I am/was a dedicated top coil Vision Vivi Nova user. For my style of vaping I find the form factor pretty near perfect. I own nine complete units, a few spare tubes and dozens of coils both new backups and those I've rebuilt many times over. (FYI, You can find replacement coil insulators at DHGate.)

Over my 2.5 years of vaping I've run my Vision VN's on Vision 1300mah Spinners and lately, 20W Isticks.

Recently, I saw the Aspire bottom coil version of the 3.5ml Vivi Nova on sale for $3.33 each. At that price I had to try them. I bought a couple and a box each of 1.8 and 2.1 ohm BVC coils cause like we all have heard, the BVC coil is the way to go.

The moment I tried the Aspire Vivi Nova with the BVC coils I was a changed vaper. Words cannot describe the improvement in performance; Easy draw, consistently thick vapor; All the good stuff. I own a full size Nautilus that I bought before I tried the VN's. I was as are many, impressed with it's performance. Now it jealously sits empty in my vape drawer surrounded by filled Aspire Viva Novas cause they are so convenient and reliable.

Judicious shoppers can find the standard polycarb tanked Aspire VN's for 5-6 bucks or the glass tanked ones for a dollar or two more. By watching for sales, I buy replacement 5 packs of BVC coils for less than $1.50 per coil.

Not only do I find the Aspire BVC VN to be a much improved vape, they actually hold a bit more juice than the original top coil style cause there is more room in the tank. However, they do seem to consume juice at a slightly faster rate so it's probably a push regarding time between refills.

Lastly, as a bonus all of the old style Vision VN tubes are 100% interchangeable with the Aspire VN's.

Honestly, if I was told that the last clearo I could ever own was the Aspire Vivi Nova with a BVC coil I'd be OK with that.

Edit: I do successfully run 70VG/30PG juice. I've never tried 100% VG so your mileage may vary. But they are so inexpensive I'd still give them a try.

See the problem with top coil clearos is that they are a dying breed. You don't see "the next best thing" come out as a top coil anymore. I understand the preference, less chance for leaking, but there are a lot of bottom coil clearos that work very well and it would be unwise to exclude them in the hunt for a new setup

...Just tried 2 of these aspires and both are gurglers for me.
Really? Did they have BVC coils installed or the sub-par BDC coils.

So many folks had bad things to say about the original BDC coils that I never even bothered to try them. I switched to the BVC coils right out of the box. I've vaped the BVC coils down to 2/3rd's of the coil body exposed above the juice and they still don't gurgle.
